Customers beware!!! If I could give 0 stars I would! I ordered the lamb chops and asked for medium no pink and it came raw and very tough and chewy. It was thick sliced, more than double the thickness as other lamb chops I get from Mediterranean restaurants. I asked the manager if they can cut it in half before heating it and he said no as they do not have the machine to cut bone. I should have replaced it there and then but I did not. Instead, I brought it home thinking I could cut it to pieces and heat it that way so it will not be pink on the inside and burnt on the outside. Unfortunately, when I was going to heat it up, the meat is already very dry and tough and it is pointless to even try. I asked the manager Robert and he refused to do anything. He said, "you left the restaurant with it that means you are satisfied with your order. I have been a manager of a restaurant for over ten years and I have never had customers return our food a day later. You should have had them exchange it that day." I told him I have the food still and he can see it and, in fact, Adrian, the other manager saw it and knew the problem and that I was not satisfied that day. In fact, he said that their lamb meat quality is poor and the meat is tough and not like at Mediterranean restaurants and is more sheep than lamb. Robert emphasized that he cannot do anything for me not even for customer courtesy. In fact, he does not act and sound like a manager but a gangster, rude and arrogant. When I told Robert I will have to write a bad review as he is not willing to help make a customer's experience at Black Angus satisfactory and memorable in a happy way, he said "I don't care and don't twist my arm as I will not allow customers to manipulate me!" Does he sound like a manager? No!!! I expected more from Black Angus and in fact installed the app as I wanted to eat there frequently and get points towards rewards. Now, I will delete it. This restaurant is a waste of...
Read moreI had the 8oz sirloin, broccoli, baked beans, Caesar side salad, and chocolate cake al a mode. I always order my steaks medium, just in case it's under/over cooked a little, I'll still eat it. In this case, it was undercooked. The flavor was good enough though, so I was ok with it. The broccoli comes in large florets and buttered with a slight hint of garlic, which was excellent. The baked beans w/bacon (new to the menu I was told) were also flavorful - although the portion is a bit small. I was also a fan of the Caesar dressing; it wasn't overpowering like some can be. And for dessert, the big mountain fudge cake was amazing. However, my guest and I's experience wasn't all perfect. My buddy also ordered the 8oz sirloin medium. Not only did he get a completely different cut of meat than me, but his was almost well-done. He was too hungry to have to wait on another steak but did inform the server of the issue. The manager came over shortly thereafter and advised he would remove it from the bill. That's how it should be handled, so we were pleased by this. Also, our server (Juliet) was not very vigilant of empty glasses. My mixed drink sat empty for at least 15 minutes before getting another. My friend's beer bottle was empty as well and by the time she noticed, he had already moved to water instead. Now I'm not trying to say her service was terrible, because it wasn't. She was busy and very pleasant the entire time. She was also very quick to resolve the issues we had. She may just need to get in the habit of looking at guests glasses more frequently. Overall, I'd recommend trying this place out. I thought the food was really good and it's honestly not priced too high for what you get. I live on the road and eat out daily, and honestly I wasn't bothered at all by the prices here compared to some...
Read moreThis place generally treats me good and cooks their meat properly but today dropped the ball. I ordered a New York strip medium and my partner ordered one as well. I asked for mine cooked medium and they wanted theirs extra well done.
When the food was served we eventually noticed that both of our steaks were severely undercooked. Mine ended up being about medium rare close to rare and my parters was about medium well.
To the manager who worked the night of 11/6/22 who told me that I should have brought it to the severs attention so the meat could be re-cooked, understand that our server NEVER came back to check on us. That’s right. And regardless of why he never checked on us, it’s not my responsibility to get up and go chase him down. So I can’t complain about the steaks if the server isint doing their job to follow up.
Second, when the server finally did come back once me and my partner had “finished” eating he could clearly see that my steak was barely touched (I ate about 10% of it) and attempted to just casually just take our plates away acting as if everything was fine not acknowledging the elephant in the room. I had to stop him and tell him that the steak was raw and to look at it. Only then did he acknowledge the issue.
And lastly, to the manager who spoke to me last night, understand that most people are NOT trying to send food back to the kitchen. Chefs do not like that and unfortunately there are horror stories of food being spit in. I’m not necessarily saying this is the case at black angus but in this day and age you can’t trust anyone. Your focus needs to be on making sure the chefs cook the food properly from the beginning as opposed to trying to criticize the customer for not reporting it immediately when we weren’t even given a chance...
