Star Crab — Restaurant in San Bernardino

We are regular customers here for the past two years and come here 3-4 times a month. Our last visit on 8/5/24 me, my wife and kids one of our orders was a pound and a half of shrimp and only received 8 pieces of shrimp not even close to a pound. We were put in the back of the restaurant when it was completely empty and was a slow day and we were never check on until we got our check. We even had to go to the front to get refills on our drinks twice. When we received the check I advised the waitresses that looks like I only received half a pound and if she could charge me what I got. She advised me that “oh your waiter is on break” and there’s nothing I can do about it and that one pound usually comes with 16 shrimp and told here exactly on only got 8 pieces. I then advised her well I’m not paying for something that I didn’t get. She then threatened us then I will have to call the police on me if I didn’t want to pay. My wife and I were outraged on her response as she thought we were trying to dine and dash and wanted to pay for what we got. We then asked to speak to the manager and she stated that the manager was on her break and that she will not come out for this which is not acceptable if that was true and continued to say we will have to call the police. We then told her you are better off on walking away because she was just making it worse in front of our kids. We then asked the host if we can speak with the manager and she came to our table right away and advised her about the situation with her employee on everything she said to us about her calling the cops on us and that the manager wasn’t going to come out for this. We advised her we aren’t trying not to pay but pay what we were given. She apologized to us and took off a whole order and then some. We told her she didn’t have to do that we just wanted to pay on what we received. We paid our bill and still gave the manager a tip as our attention wasn’t to get a free meal we want to make it right and pay what we got. Me and my wife will definitely not be returning her since their employee threatened us to call the police on us for something they are doing in fact they were trying to steal from us...

It's unfortunate that they have king crab on the menu but the king crab is the same size as the snow crab. Also it had nothing inside of it! I was told by our waiter who happens to be the manager I guess that their king crab was running smaller than usual AFTER we placed our order. We ordered the star crab family bucket and it clearly states that you get one order of king crab which consists of 3 pieces. We ended up getting at least 5 pieces of shell.half way through eating we also noticed our shrimp didn't seem like a pound. We were informed that the shrimp comes with at least 16 pieces of shrimp per pound. We only had about 8 or 9.we we're also told that each family bucket you order is already pre packaged in a bag sorted by them ready to cook when you order. I'm confused as to how I spent $200 on a family bucket that was lacking in each pound department. If that's what I ordered then I should be getting what I paid for. The clams we're all out of shell. Instead of jipping me of shrimp or giving me the last of the supposed to be king crab you have left. If someone can come in right after me and order the same thing I did. After being told our king crab was hand picked for the biggest ones but yet this couple has king crab twice as big as ours.close to three times! I feel as though we were handed left overs just because we were nice. Even spoke to Christine who is the manager I suppose. She literally had so much attitude because I spoke up!! They were horrible the first time I came but decided maybe it was because they had just opened like the day...

My husband and I were thoroughly impressed by the experience at this Star Crab. The atmosphere is vibrant and spacious, making it perfect for groups. With televisions strategically placed throughout the restaurant, we were able to enjoy the Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series game while savoring our meal, which added to the excitement. Our server, Yareni, was incredibly polite and attentive, frequently checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. The hostess, Jessica, was equally friendly, stepping in to assist with bussing tables, refilling drinks, and delivering food, which showcased the team's commitment to excellent service. They are the "stars" of Star Crab! 🌟🦀 The menu is extensive, offering a choice between Build Your Own Bag and Family Buckets. We opted for the Snow Star Family Bucket with Cajun sauce, spicy hot. It consisted of 2 clusters snow crab, 1/2 order scallops, 1 order shrimp, 1 order clams, 1 order crawfish, 1 order green mussels, 4pcs corn, 6 pcs potatoes, 2 sausage links, 6 pcs eggs . Good for 5-7 ppl. We were the 5-7 ppl! 🤣 Our food arrived in a massive bag, beautifully mixed with the sauce, ensuring every bite was flavorful. The portion sizes were generous, and each item was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The extra Cajun sauce and lemon salt pepper mix were a bonus and had this foodie humming as I was eating. 😋 Overall, it was a fantastic first-time experience, and I highly recommend Star Crab, San Bernardino.
