5 stars isn’t enough to express how amazing Mrs. J is! For close to 15 years now this amazing person has been cutting my hair and I’m truly thankful and blessed to have her in my life not only as a hair stylist but as a friend.

I was introduced to Mrs. J by a really good college friend of mine who told me how amazing she was. Little did I know, I would be making a really amazing friend who not only has mastery over cutting hair, but caring about the individual as well. She was so good that when I had moved to Sydney, Australia for my Bachelors Degree, I would make a point of always scheduling an appointment with her every time I planned on flying back for Summer & Winter breaks. She had an amazing ability to make me feel like we were just picking up from where we left off, almost as if I hadn’t had moved in the first place.

It’s one thing to provide an amazing hair cut. It’s another to provide an experience that makes you feel like family. She has an uncanny ability of showing you how much she cares by both listening to you when you need to vent, and providing loving advice and acceptance when you need comfort.

I found Jay through a lot of research. I read many reviews and finally called after Catch22 kept coming up for me in every search I did. I needed a color correction from platinum blond back to my natural hair color, dirty blond. I knew it would take a lot of work to make my hair less damaged and bring it back to a color that was easier to take care of and Jay walked me through it. She did a strand test to see if my hair would hold the color and when it did she was able to schedule an appointment. I was nervous. Jay was meticulous and did an amazing job. She did highlights and low lights and she called it a color meld, I believe. What she should have called it was amazing. I am very happy to say my hair came out amazing and I am excited I have found such a talented person. Her daughter was so kind and helpful and she took over and toned my hair. She picked the perfect color toner and was also responsible for the amazing end result. I appreciate everything they did and am excited...

This was my first visit to Catch 22 and it was great! I went for a haircut based on the positive reviews of J, and she certainly has earned all the praise she’s received. We discussed the style I wanted in detail and any adjustments that might be needed. Thankfully she said the cut I’d picked out would well suite my hair type, and she even showed me how best to style it once we finished! She assured adjustments if needed which I also really appreciate. J was very friendly and easy to talk to; I felt very at ease even though I’m a bit of a shy person. I will definitely have to come back and do some shopping. I only had time for a quick browse but there’s so many beautiful vintage pieces there that I’d love to look at more.
