Inka Mama's San Clemente — Restaurant in San Clemente

I have to say that this hidden gem shouldn’t be hidden at all.

We had the pleasure of coming in during brunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t too busy, and the owner Stavros welcomed us with a warm smile and told us to “make ourselves at home” He was well versed on the menu and answered questions about the delicious Peruvian cuisine that were outside the menu.

We started with drinks—Definitely start with a Pisco Sour— which were full of flavor and not too sharp on the tongue, a beautiful introduction to what this quaint restaurant had in store for us.

For our table we divulged in a juicy Anticuchos, that if we’re on the bone, would fall right off. The grill char added a delectable bite and enhanced the marinated flavor of the ribeye appetizer.

Of course side dishes of Fried Yucca and Plantains accompanied our Inka Special entree. One would be tempted to get every drop of the mouth watering sauce off the plate and in their stomachs. If we had any more space in our bellies, we would have grabbed dessert, but too our dismay, any more food and our stomachs would pop!

My wife and I were in the area so searched for an interesting restaurant with a high customer rating. Inka Mama's jumped out first with positive reviews, and also the name Inka Mama's sounded like something a little more exotic for us with Peruvian cuisine. Man are we glad we chose Inka Mama's! The restaurant is located in a little village area mall with small shops and restaurants. It feels like you are in a different country. You can't tell just how cool the restaurant is until you walk through the door and see a beautiful restaurant with exposed wood beams, a colorfully tiled fireplace, bar, and comfortable spread out seating. We started with one of their craft cocktails "Pisco Sour", followed by the empanadas that were amazing (we ordered one of each option they had available) and also the Ceviche was so fresh with a slight spicy kick. I recently had the pleasure of dining here and it was an absolutely delicious experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality from Stavros the owner, and a menu filled with mouth-watering options.
