FIRST….CALL IN YOUR ORDER!! This place is busy!! After searching for the absolute best Mexican food in San Clemente I AM HAPPY TO SAY… we have FINALLY FOUND IT!!!! With an outstanding staff working so hard in the kitchen to get orders made. We were told their guacamole is the absolute best you will ever have. Today we ordered a Machaca burrito and the Fajita Burrito… BOTH was so flavorful that we didn’t even need salsa to go with it. Extremely affordable and customer service is outstanding. You have a Counter cashier . Their outdoor tables still aren’t set up so you’ll be taking your order to go. We absolutely can not wait to go back and try out other items on their HUGE menu!!! Take note; they aren’t taking phone orders on Christmas Eve. I wish I could give this place 10 stars!!

Wanted to love it…. but service was absolutely terrible and my fish burrito had fish that was still raw in places (which I unfortunately didn’t find until near the end of my burrito when I got a mouth full of slimy tough fish). The server literally threw my burrito on the counter in front of me. I looked around and people were smiling and shaking their heads, the whole thing was kind of ridiculous. Photo of uncooked fish included - its a little hard to tell, but most definitely still raw.

This place's bean and cheese burritos suck! The bread and beans are nice and warm but the cheese is cold, all blocky and just thrown in there. I remember back then this place would give it to you the right way, now it seems like the people in the back are just lazy and throw it in there and don't care. Not to keep on bashing but it makes me want to only take a few bites and throw away the rest for just the texture of the cold blocky cheese with everything else grosses me out

As much as I love the food their costumer service is pretty nasty! They are acting like you should be the one who has to be thankful for them because they are giving you their services by taking your orders lol not that I am not thankful but hey cheer up! You don't need to be that rude and act like I am the one giving you service so I don't need to be friendly with you because you are just a costumer lol... Their fish tacos was fine if you like mayo in it lol never expected that they would put mayonaise instead of salsa I didn't really like it because it was kind of too fishy with the mayonaise and I also ordered the tostadas! We really liked it but you have to have the salsa on the side or else your tostadas will swim to the juice of the salsa lol also on taco tuesday we ordered our tacos without the salsa and wanted it to be on the side, because the last time we ordered our tacos as soon as we got home it was saggy and also was all mess up! So we told them since we didn't put salsa in our tacos can we have it on the side instead of putting it directly and the guy was like No because our salsa isn't free and we don't give away salsa and I'm like yeah but we didn't put it in so I said instead to out it in it can you just put it on the side he was like sorry we don't do that or we can't give you any salsa on the side like what the hell? Ok you just lose a costumer that goes there every morning and also lose me giving you any tip! It's not like their container for the salsa is as big as a can of goods lol! All I wanted was the salsa that you were supposed to pour into my tacos on the side! 😑😑😑 anyway they just lose us and he was pretty nasty along with the girl and so we will never go back there ever again saying that I just recommended you to a friend now I just have to tell them not to go! 😪 which is pretty sad because when I told my friend about it, I sounded like it was the best tacos but I guess I was wrong! And that was the crispy ground beef tacos and shredded...

i've had some great mexican food in my life and this was NOT it. its take out only, theres one small old bench outside, no bathrooms. got a steak burrito, chips, salsa and guac which is all sold separately oddly enough. The burrito was like 50-60% puree bean soup inside with a little rice and some steak cubes. just bland and disappointing (no napkins put in the bag?!). seemed like there were no fresh ingredients inside beside bean sauce, bit of rice and some meat. 0 salsa, cilantro, onions, nothing like that. burrito was very runny and messy which easily ended up on my pants. the chips were just okay, didnt really have much flavor but they looked deceivingly really good. the guacamole was actually almost great, could've used a little jalapeno which isnt for everyone perhaps. probably the only offensive thing was the salsa. it was like canned tomato sauce! with some added tomato chunks and typical salsa ingredients. i hardly touched it, 2/10

i am sad to leave a review like this but for mexican food this was extremely underwhelming. most the items i ordered were average or below. i was recommended to come here from someone at work and would've been better over going to chipotle which is pains me to admit that because i would never call that mexican food. ive had mexican food that was 100x better in Idaho of all places

the owner that has these restaurants seems very out of touch with reality and its very surprising that such mexican food exists less than 2 hours away from the border. The female cashier was very nice and sweet but i dont really have any actual reason to come back here. there are far better places around to eat. sorry for the...

Whoever shed the blood, sweat, and tears to build the Las Golondrinas name cannot be proud of what this place has become today. I visited Las Golondrinas for the last time tonight. I will start with the service at their walk-up counter. No warm welcome, smile, greeting, or any feeling of welcome by the employees to the customers. The person behind the counter was annoyed and inconvenienced by having to take our order. The attitude was beyond rude. There were 2 other customers waiting in the shop and they received horrible service as well. When we were exiting the restaurant, one of the cashiers was coming back in and did not stop to let the customer leave first, which is common courtesy. Instead, he barrelled through the door, almost knocking my daughter over as we approached the exit. Shocking but consistent with the culture. This is the 3rd time that I have experienced this type of service in the last 6 months. My family has been patronizing Las Golondrinas since the '80s. It has never been like this. Unfortunately, the food is no longer what it once was either. It was terrible. I can think of at least 5 competitors within the immediate area that provides excellent service, fair prices, and good food. Sadly, I'd rather eat at Del Taco but for roughly the same price, I can go to Lupe's and get incredible service and excellent food. As a Dana Point local of almost 50 years, I will be sharing this experience with everyone I know. I hope that Las Golondrinas cares enough for its customers to take these...
