We didn’t have a reservation but they sat us immediately but with only one menu. We waited a bit to get additional menus but were eventually given water. We ordered coffee and a nitro tea. The tea took a long time but the coffee was good. We ordered beignets and when that came it looked good. Our entrees took a lot longer and had some issues. The meat for my burger was undercooked and the server was scarce and checked in exactly once. The eggs and sausage were off but the duck confit was good. We waited about 20 minutes to get our water refilled once we finished the bottle. Our server was tending to other tables and came by once after the food arrived. The prices are high for what they’re providing and I don’t anticipate returning at this time. We arrived without a reservation, but they promptly seated us, albeit with only one menu. We patiently waited for additional menus, but were eventually given water. We ordered coffee and a nitro tea. The tea took a while, but the coffee was satisfactory. We also ordered beignets, which looked delicious.
After finishing our water, we waited about 20 minutes for a refill, but our server was preoccupied with other tables and only came by once after the food arrived. For context it was in the high 70° and we were experiencing direct sunlight as they’d sat us outside.
Our entrees took an excessively long time and had some issues. The meat in my burger was undercooked, and the server was scarce, checking in only once. I was also never asked about how to cook the burger which made this especially frustrating. After the wait, we no longer had patience to complain. The eggs and sausage were off, but the duck confit was a highlight.
Their DJ played house music and, if you’re into that, it’s great. If you’re not a fan of that or you’re interested in a more quiet restaurant… this isn’t it.
Considering the high prices for the limited offerings, I don’t anticipate returning to this restaurant...
Read moreThis is one of the best brunch spots in San Diego. I got the simple toast (make it extraordinary) and it was truly extraordinary! The bread was like a thick slice of milk bread (I’d say about an inch or more thick)— the flavor of the bread was divine and the way they toast it in butter and honey only added to the flavor. Yet, still it wasn’t too sweet (I mean the Maillard on the toast was perfect). The “extraordinary” additions are a matcha cream (which is really not like a whipped cream, not sure how to describe it— it’s kind of custardy or frosting-like in terms of texture) which was amazingly light in flavor and sweetness, and some delicious seasonal berries. I highly recommend this toast, and even with the cream and the honey, it still was (amazingly) not too sweet!!!! Honestly, no notes— it was perfect! 💖💖 The prices are not that high and SO worth it! Oh, I also got their iced matcha latte, which was good. It comes lightly sweetened (and I do mean LIGHTLY sweetened)— I could hardly taste the sweetness which was perfect for me. The flavor of the matcha was good, pretty standard, but the quality was certainly there. Next time I’m really interested in trying their matcha (which I think is just the matcha, no latte,?) — it comes in a 12oz cup— just to see how it tastes on its own! Anyway, a truly remarkable experience, staff was amazing too!!!! My one caveat is that it can be a bit loud depending on where you’re seated (we were sat next to a large open window and the cars were quite loud lol, but otherwise it’s an AMAZING place and I highly...
Read moreThere’s a new brunch spot in North Park and I can’t stop thinking about it! From the creators of Thai Time Between Us focuses on farm to table ingredients with everything made from scratch including all their breads.
They have a huge variety of brunch items ranging from traditional options to super creative ones with an Asian twist. Take their simple toast but add a creamy matcha cream to it. Or their breakfast tartine with a thick piece of candied bacon. You honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
If you’re a matcha lover like me, they use only ceremonial grade matcha. And they even have a black sesame and hojita latte which are both amazing! Service was amazing and you can definitely tell that they take pride in every dish. I will definitely be back!
