Clos truly has the most knowledgeable and approachable team in SD—I managed in wine bars + fine dining to truly get a grasp for the airy, pseudo-actor scene that is natural wine lately. I’m not here for that.

From the beautiful succulent garden just outside of the patio to the SERIOUSLY ADORABLE BATHROOM, love and dedication to creative beauty adorn each corner of this space.

Clos is not a bar but a place to rest and absorb the knowledge and personality of the earth from which the grapes you’re tasting grow, the colorful humans that lend their hand to the process of capturing a fruit’s essence.

Also do NOT skip on the chips, truffle is cool but my jam is the aged cheese flavor. WITH THE SARDINES...

Wow! What an amazing experience! So refreshing to have such genuine service. You can really feel how much love and energy this couple poured into making this a safe space to talk, taste, deepen knowledge, and more importantly learn about wine! What I really appreciated is the approach they have taken with making wine accessible to everyone! The permitting happen to wrap up in the middle of COVID, and they still went for it! They are doing and unbelievably job serving their community and creating a casual/comfortable environment for anyone that comes their way. Thank you for your kindness-I SO appreciate it and cannot wait to come back! If you’re thinking about stopping by for a bottle or some time on their outdoor porch, DO IT! You will lot regret it. They will shower you with all their passion and knowledge of wine!...

Can't say enough positive things about Clos! I've been coming to Clos for years--not only do they have an excellent, global selection of wines, but the owners and employees are all fantastic, friendly people that help anchor a sense of community in University Heights. Every wine on offer has been tasted by the team, so they'll be able to give you specific tasting notes and match you with a bottle to your liking. They also offer charcuterie boards, tinned fish, and other snacks, and even opened a basement annex where they sell local artist's crafts along with other quality goods.
