The new Crack Taco location is in the beautiful Seaport Village, overlooking the marina!
Parking/Service: We went on a Sunday afternoon and parking was pretty tough, considering it was a weekend and there was an event going on in the area. The parking lots close to the restaurant were completely full. We managed to snag a street spot about a 10min walk away. I suggest trying to come at off-peak hours!
You order at the window and they have outdoor seats only. They have 2-6 person benches and tables, and barstool seats along the deck. Not really good for big groups but I imagine you can take it to go and have a picnic close by.
Food: The line wasn’t too long but we waited about 10 minutes to order plus another 15 minutes for the food. I understand that we’re paying for location but holy moly, the prices of some of these entrees! My husband ordered the Crackafornia Burrito ($18.95). He enjoyed the taste but unfortunately, they forgot the pico de Gallo he ordered. I got the Baja Shrimp Burrito ($18.95)- which I enjoyed but next time, I’d probably get something else. Both burritos were not really impressive in size. We also ordered the Mexican Street Corn ($6.95)— corn on the cob with the white sauce and it seemed like red sauce draped on it— I’d skip it next time.
The tortillas are super fresh, and I love that they give you different kinds of sauce on the side- I liked the red one the best. Just a heads up, no water cups available.
Overall: I’m glad they opened up another location at the beautiful San Diego Waterfront. The pricing is a little more expensive but I understand that it’s because of the location. The next time I come, I’d like to try out other entrees that they’re more...
Read moreNewish addition to the waterfront between the also newish Malibu Farms: San Diego and the more established bagel place. I gather they have other outlets further north. You do get an incredible view which explains why a basic breakfast burrito 🌯 costs 20 bucks. I'll say the view is five dollars of that so call it a 15 dollar breakfast burrito, which is high but not crazy prices.
This breakfast burrito was a little dry for a traditional style Southern California taqueria breakfast burrito with eggs, cheese, potatoes and meat (bacon). They were, astonishingly out of red salsa and the counter guy just shrugged about it but if this is the type of spot where the owner reads their reviews: what the hell? No red salsa all day? Shame on you.
I ended up using those impossible to use tapatio packets and their terrible green salsa. The potato's were above average for sure, the rest of the ingredients were just fine. They were skimpy with the bacon for a place that sells themselves as being meat centered. I had a breakfast burrito for half the price not two miles away last week and it had five times the bacon this breakfast...
Read moreI am staying in a nearby hotel, and I saw Crack Tacos was nearby for a quick lunch. It’s really more of a walk up window than anything else, but it has a lot of outdoor seating with a great view of the marina. I ordered two Pollo Asada and one Baja Shrimp Taco along with Mexican Street Corn, which was a full cob. They have drinks, but being on the company dime, I just wanted water, and I was directed to the Seaside Market nearby. No problem, but just a heads up.
The food didn’t take long, and I sat down looking at the marina. The Pollo Asada was a little bland, but it could be the after effects of the cold I currently have (not COVID), but the most forward flavor was the corn tortilla, which was nice. I just wanted a little more heat. The Baja Shrimp taco was amazing, if a little over stuffed, but I would definitely recommend. The Mexican Street Corn was good, even if off the cob was a...
