We visited San Diego from Liverpool England in June/July this year. We got on the Trolley bus in the Gaslamp Quarter, we didn't have tickets so we told our driver 'Goose' who said we could purchase tickets at the next manned stop. My partner spoke to Goose at the Coronado stop and asked if he had time to pay for our tickets, goose said yes sure, once my partner stepped off the Trolley Goose closed the doors and took off with me still in our seats! All of the other passengers shouted to him that he had left someone behind, Goose said he was on a schedule, and that my partner had said he 'had all the time in the world' this was a complete lie. Goose wouldn't let me off the trolley, and shouted at me for attempting to leave my seat. (I do appreciate this is a safety rule) but he made no attempt to help the situation. The trolley employee who was at the manned booth phoned Goose to let him know he had left my partner behind, but he took no notice. I eventually got off and walked back to try to locate my partner, not a very good start to our trip to San Diego! This incident was completely unnecessary and caused by poor decision making by Goose, who it would appear lives up to his name. 0/10 for this service. I did fill in and post your blue card for feedback leaving my e mail but heard nothing back so felt I needed to write a review of...
Read moreToday was our second time signing up for a one day adventure on the hop on hop off San Diego. In 2019 the tour was perfection from start to finish. Today. Not so much. We started out about 9:45 this AM and the first trolley was full, so waited about 15 for a second after the travel agent called a “ code yellow to gas lamp.” But this set the theme for the day. At balboa park we waited over an hour for a trolley. This really cut down on the things we did and then we missed the last trolley at stop B and had to walk 45 minutes back to our VRBO. I would think it is simpler math for the powers that be at trolley world to know how many people are riding and how many get off at stops. I was also sadly miffed at people pushing their way to the front of lines and not being respectful of those who were in line ahead of them. At Balboa an older lady was there first and when one trolley only had space for a single rider some young guy hopped on despite a couple and our family saying she was first. We did have GREAT drivers. Shout out to Goose, James and Deb. Well done to each of you. Not sure that I would recommend. They happily took our money and did little to make it a memorable experience. If I hear the term code yellow one more time it will...
Read moreEDITED TO 5 STARS. I sent the company a second email reminding them that we live 2000 miles away and these were extenuating circumstances. Today my mother informed me that she did receive a refund. I feel this was good customer service so I have changed my review.
We purchased tickets for 3 of us to do the trolley tour while we were in town for a family wedding. Upon arriving at the airport, my 70 year old mother fell down the escalator and was hospitalized. I emailed the company to ask for a refund, since the tickets specifically say "a photo ID matching ticket user name is required", which was my mother, who would definitely not be able to join us if we did go. I explained that she was in the hospital, that we were only in town for a few days or until she was released from the hospital, and that we live 2000 miles away, so we would not be returning within the year to be able to use the tickets. The response I got was "unused tickets are non-refundable". It's not like we just decided to do something else. There were extenuating circumstances. I was really looking forward to the trolley tour, but I will not be giving this company any more of my money next time we are in San Diego. I didn't feel like this was very good...
