We wanted to step up from our previous couches that didn’t last very long, and turned to InDesign to find european alternatives. Igal was an awesome person to work with. He encouraged us to just sit on every couch in the store. As we moved around, he would come fill us in on the differences with this brand, some basic options, then give us space again. He really loves his work, and loves bringing European brands here to the states. He spoke to the fact that each couch brand is different, and your body is going to like certain angles/lumbar better than others. Its a very personal choice. At the end, we had narrowed down to two couches. There was absolutley zero pressure. He didn’t even take my name and number, instead he simply gave us his card and said please call me if you’d like to talk specifics. I called the next day with concers about how the chaise would sit, and he said, “come hang out all afternoon. Ill be here. You can decide if its comfortable.” We purchased a EgoItaliano couch. The company makes everything in Italy, and has stores all over Italy and Europe. I found only 4 places in the states that carry it. Its modern but cozy as well. Such a cool combination. He had one of these in stock and it was what we wanted, so that worked out great. When it arrived at home, Igal was there in person, setting it up and making sure everything was good. Our experience with Igal and ReModern Living is not quite as positive. We ordered a couch; Igal was very distracted during the order process, and it turns out he wrote down the wrong color of leather for the main versus accent. Couch arrived this week with these incorrect colors. When told, he blamed us for not catching the error on the invoice. Also on the invoice was the "free" battery he had "given" us. But we had to ask for that to be sent. When asked if he'd give a discount on the incorrect sofa, he said no, but that he'd send us a free battery. So, I'm thinking I'm now getting two batteries. Nope, he "gave us" one battery "for free"....twice. No apology for doing the order wrong. He did offer to re-order the couch, but who wants to wait another 12 weeks for a new couch? In the end, we like the couch, even in its wrong color. The leather is lovely, the layout is perfect. But Igal was NOT a salesperson we would buy from again. In the middle of a bathroom remodel for a very small 1920 home we realized that a traditional swing door would not work in the small space. The contractor suggested a barn door, but we didn't want all the bulky hardware exposed and desired a cleaner look in such a small space. I had seen sliding doors where all the mechanics were hidden and found exactly what we needed at ReModern Living. I think they may be the only store in town that actually has them on display. Igal was essential in our selection, worked to be sure the custom sizing and details would work. When it came to installation, we hired Sergey, recommended by Igal, a real pro in hanging the door. He had to make some adjustments due to the 1920's construction. He also installed all the hardware for the door. The bathroom contractors were quite impressed!
