Though I have not been to every bowling alley and recreation center at all the US military bases located around the world, this one would have to be the epi-center if not the flagship of the Navy's bowling alleys. I am being slightly impartial because I did grow up bowling these lanes;) Experiencing and seeing many of the changes it has undergone throughout the years, the variety of entertainment and recreational options offered here have very few peers in the military. Even on the outside! It has 40 lanes, some arcade games(far fewer than in previous years), bar, cafe(affordable and delicious food items to ease an appetite), billiard tables, chairs and desks for online gamers, video machines to play card games, pro shop, MWR gear rental shop, MWR ITT center, and a banquet hall. Always had excellent customer service throughout the years, and the consistentency was proven on recent visits. The quality and price of food and drink gets a 5.0 for its eval rating. Newer added items populate the food menu(they offer their very own California Burrito), and some OG classics remain. Highly recommend the tuna melts:p Despite the multitude of entertainment and recreational options that are available nowadays, a change up is always good to do every once in awhile. It can be more crowded on the weekends or when their is a league playing. The best prices for bowling is on Monday. All day at $1.50 per game. So what are you doing?! Take your family and friends to have some fun! It is not a 'Commandatory' fun requirement that you go bowling this instant... but there is a far better and immediate satisfaction in accurately positioning and hurtling a round circumferential heavy projectile from afar, down a narrow path that has a deceptive appearance, into 10 standing objects; than say, you smacking a smaller circumferential round object with a club. The sound is unmistakable the moment all ten objects go careening into various directions. Quite gratifying, and more affordable too!! A complete shame the lanes at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. are not seeing any worthwhile...

System is a little strange in that anything your purchasing - Lane Time, Shoe Rental, Soft Drinks and Food needs to be paid for at the front desk. One Girl at the front desk has to deal with all purchases, mechanic requests, etc.
Stay Away from Lane 29 ! It was plagued with multiple pin placement faults and lock-ups requiring persistent resets and Mechanic Attention. Probably takes 3-4x as long to play a game on this lane due to delays. Plus it's frustrating and doesn't allow a smooth experience.
We had rented two lanes side x side so we could really keep things rolling for our 6 Person Party. Lane 29 put the brakes to that idea.
We were given enough time finish out our second game and the staff was...
Read moreBetween 32nd street and NASNI for bowling..... go to NASNI for bowling... 32nd is so crowded, and the set up is not very user friendly. The drinks only come a cup at a time, and you have to pay for each one. Whereas the soda at NASNI comes in a pitcher, and free refills. The family deals are more expensive at 32nd, and the shoes are very old and smelly. The bathrooms are disgusting!!! It would be better to go to a public bowling alley than here. Just not a good...
