We got all of our food and were able to eat it, so I can at least give it two stars.
The menus in are several pieces and lack continuity so the entire experience begins with confusion. Our plates came out at random times and mine arrived roughly half way through the meal and was a little cold.
The most damning of all was the handling of the large sake. We ordered a large but were given two smalls due to what I can assume is a lack of dishes or staff to clean them; they said they were out of the large size containers. When our bill came they had charged both parties for a small instead of a single large. After I explained this she changed it without too much argument, but she seemed surprised that we would find this problematic. The problem is that I was not given the opportunity to address a billing issue preemptively. I care significantly less for those two dollars than the lack of moral integrity this restaurant showed through this experience. If an option is not available it is imperative that the customer be made aware and a decision made by the customer, not the restaurant. Vendors do not make financial decisions for restaurants, nor do restaurants get to make similar decisions for customers.
Before leaving I addressed our waitress once more to make it clear why we were dissatisfied; while it was obvious to our party I didn't want her to miss the conclusion: financial mistakes, big or small, are mistakes; transactions are agreed upon by both parties before occurring--they are not made by the restaurant in a way which prefers their bottom line. The experience was reminiscent of getting charged extra in a taxi by taking the long way or simply lying about the bill or attempting to shortchange the customer. Perhaps it was the most trivial method of splitting a check between parties but it was a misrepresentation of our order which financially benefitted the owners of the restaurant.
Quality of service: silverware and other such necessities seemed an afterthought Food delivery: food came in waves and ranged about 20 minutes from first to last dish Handling of minor customer issues: made assumptions on our bill based upon shortcomings of their own restaurant (availability of dishes) which financially benefitted the restaurant (small in degree, but major loss of trust in staff); staff seemed surprised that this was an issue, despite the correction of the issue it seemed that they didn't understand why this is a...
Read moreI was walking by and was greated by the lady outside asking if I'd like a table. I thought that was a good sign and that it would be good service since she went out of her way to seat me. But no, not at all. The service was horrible and the sushi all tasted old and dried out. I got a spicy rainbow roll, which was spicy tuna inside the rainbow roll, too bad it was just a delicious idea and tasted horrible. The sauce the put on it was a sweet mango tasting sauce too which did not compliment the sushi at all. The garlic edamame tasted like it was made with that dehydrated garlic and very lacking in flavor and slightly burned. They didn't ask me once if I needed anything or even acknowledge I was finsihed until I loudly ask...
Read moreMy toddler really wanted sushi. We happened to walk past this place and she thought it smelled great. I really wanted a grilled cheese from Hodad's but she always wins. It proved to be a great choice. Every roll we ordered tasted phenomenal. We got one Cali roll, baked salmon and a fried tempura type roll that was really really good. The atmosphere was nice. Pleasant decorations and ambiance. However, the bathroom was gross. Not just messy and unkempt, but pretty run down looking. The service was ok. Both ladies that waited on me seemed nice enough. The other patrons in the restaurant also seemed nice. There were lots of other kids. Another mom came over and talked to us. It was a...
