I tried BBQ House OBâs new Creamy Tomato Basil soup served with crostini. Hands down âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ Absolutely PHENOMENAL!!â I tried a sneak peak during the restaurant walk and been waiting ever since to get a full bowl. I canât rave enough about this soup and itâs perfect timing because we are in soup season. Iâd suggest definitely adding some additional crostini. Iâm just going to say it again⌠this soup is PHENOMENAL!!!
Update: The other day I saw on the BBQ House OB Facebook page they had two items I wanted to check out asap. So yesterday after work I cruised through BBQ House and tried one of them. It was their BBQ Parfait. It is mashed potatoes, brown gravy with your choice of brisket, pulled pork, grilled chicken or ham topped with fried onion bits served in a HUGE goblet. Itâs almost twice the size of a softball. I choose the brisket and it was a wise choice. This âBBQ Parfaitâ item needs to be renamed âBBQ Perfectâ. đ It was really a perfect meal! Definitely recommend and itâs a head turner as everyone in the surrounding area was pointing and asking, âWhat is that!!??â Pro tip: Iâd suggest asking for an extra plate to put under the goblet so you can really dig in and not worry about any of the fried onion bits falling onto the table. Youâre not gonna want to loose any of those tasty nuggets. I removed most of the fried onion topping bits and placed them on the plate. Then started âstabbingâ the rest of the contents with a fork breaking/mixing it up good and added back the fried onion bits as space became available. đ I ate until I was full and still had some I brought home to eat at a later time. Delicious!
Update 2: Yesterday I cruised by BBQ House OB to try their âBBQ Rice Bowlâ which is a bed of steamed & seasoned jasmine rice layered with a choice of pulled pork, beef brisket or grilled chicken topped with coleslaw & baked beans. I went with the pulled pork and ordered it spicy. What a perfect meal! The bowl size is deceiving as it has a lot of hidden rice (not photographed) under the meat and that bowl is also next to a big 24 oz beer for size. This very tasty bowl is now being added to my go to items that Iâll be ordering in the future at BBQ House.
Update 3: After work yesterday I stopped by BBQ House OB to try their Hot Box Burger which is a hand-pressed, 100% Angus beef patty, seasoned with salt, garlic & cayenne pepper, grilled over an open flame & served with a spicy-sweet Chili Teriyaki sauce over lettuce, tomato, Chipotle mayo, Pepper Jack cheese & jalapeno poppers. It came with a side order and I chose onion rings. Upon reflection, I might opt for a lighter accompaniment next time, perhaps the coleslaw or the creamy potato salad because boy oh boy this was a lot of bang for your buck. đ The juicy burger, bursting with the perfect balance of spicy heat and rich flavors, was delicious. Be sure to arrive with a hearty appetite to fully savor every mouthwatering bite.
Update 4: I tried this incredible Oreo cookie cheesecake at BBQ House OB yesterday and it was a next level dessert! So much melting âummmmâ feeling with every single bite. With the Oreo cookie crumbs, chocolate syrup and powder sugar perfectly layered on top, this homemade cheesecake became a wonderful art piece of a treat. So much that once I finished it, I was scraping the plate to get every last bit of flavor. Highly recommended. (*it was hard...
Read moreIf I could give this so-called restaurant a NEGATIVE 5 stars, I most certainly would!!!!! Unbelievable how they deliberately ripped us off. The story goes, my friends and I walked across the street from Hodads ( a place I highly recommend and bummed we didnât eat there ) because this lousy place had no line and plenty of empty tables. A place with no line and empty tables should be a dead giveaway that it's probably not a very good place to eat. I shouldâve listened to my gut instinct and stayed in line at HODADâS. The three of us each ordered a burger and a drink, the bill was $48.63. We gave the waitress $60.00 in cash ( $20.00 each, another huge mistake ) and told her to keep the change. Not a bad tip for not that much work. We then decided to order two more drinks and asked her to start a new tab. After finishing the two drinks we asked for the new bill and she gave us the old bill instead with the two extra drinks. We were a little confused and thought it was just an honest mistake. When we confronted her she denied taking sixty bucks from us and said we never paid. I think it is pretty hard to get confused when there are just a few tables to service. We decided to speak to the manager. The manager was calm and collective explaining that she believes the waitress never got paid and insisted we pay the full bill. Personally I wouldâve just walked away but one of my friends decided to pay the bill. That lousy waitress double charged us and the three of us knew she ripped us off. How could three people all have not remembered paying her the sixty bucks. My advice is very simple, donât ever...
Read moreThe sign out front said they had special priced sliders. When we got inside and asked for a seat the greeting waitress said we don't have any sloppy Joe's here. which was their advertised special, but she quickly asked another employee and confirmed they had enough supplies to serve us on a slow Sunday afternoon. We were seated, then after being seated' , by a second employee advised; "this isn't happy hour yet the burgers are at standard cost" Of course, we stayed for the meal, it took over five minutes to be brought our drinks. When the server brought 3 sliders he brought one plate for two guests. Then asked us if we needed a second plate. As for the food, the buns were cold and not properly toasted, meat quality was okay, bbq sauce was sweet and mild semi impressive. The entertainment during our wait and dine was excellent, other than staff, a good amount of the best sports all at audible but reasonable volumes. Though it wasnt super inviting. At 1pm they were less than 1/3 of capacity, but our sever was eagerly over our shoulder only after the 5 minute wait for the drinks. Then to top it all off the tab was $1 more than advertised and the server couldn't wait until we signed the check to try to clean off the table and dropped the pen further inconveniencing us. Not likely to return. Had the food not been decent it would had been simply a one star, customer service is a large part of the...
