I am so glad that this restaurant is right across the street from me because I would literally drive an hour to go here if I had to- it was soo good. I had the carbonara lasagna and my 6 yo son had gnocchi with alfredo sauce. Both were absolutely delicious. The service was flawless. The atmosphere reminded me of the restaurants in Europe- comfortable, not packed with too many tables, and a nice hum of conversation, but not overly loud. Perfect place for a romantic dinner or equally appropriate for a family night out. Excellent wine selections, authentic food options, excellent quality of ingredients, excellent presentation, excellent service, excellent location (ample free parking, close to freeway), reasonably priced, excellent excellent excellent. Go tonight! *Came for a second time and I just want to say, please, I beg you- skip the terrible parking of Little Italy and come here! Diego, you have made this dining experience *magical* my son and I love you!

Enjoyed lunch with my daughter on October 3, 2025. As we looked over the menu options, we were served fresh bread with a warm cheese-based dipping sauce. Bread and fondue yumminess. We both selected items from their $25 lunch menu. Caesar Salad (or soup of the day) and an entree. I loved the pesto pasta, and added chicken. My daughter had salad, and spaghetti with oxtail meatballs in a marinara sauce. The staff were enjoyable and attentive. Service was timely and efficient. I brought leftovers home and look forward to returning for dinner in the future.

Got here early in the evening, just as the sun was starting to set. Gorgeous view of the sunset was complimented by inviting and romantic music in the background. The server, Mateo, was friendly and professional and let us know they had just opened several days ago. We had a great experience, the food was good - my salmon was fantastic, and the cocktails were lovely; I strongly recommend the ginger Vespa. Definitely worth checking out this new spot in Bay Park, it’s a gem!

First visit to Romanella. I’ve been to a lot of Italian restaurants in my life all over the world so I’m aware of high good a proper Italian mean can be. The past restaurant that was here was Italian as well. I had never tried it because negative reviews circulated fast. Our server was James. Originally from Capri. I could tell just by the attitude of the team members and the quality of the bread that I was in for or a good meal. We got the mushroom appetizer which was excellent. Our entrees were lamb and the radiotori pasta. Both full of flavor. Lastly we got the tiramisu. It was properly delivered. We will definitely be going back. We want to see a good restaurant do well here as there are not that many options in the neighborhood especially with this...

Romanella is a brand new gem in Bay Park and definitely a must for your San Diego food list. From the moment you walk in, the cozy atmosphere makes you feel like you've stepped right into Rome. The food is authentic Italian at its best, full of rich flavors and fresh ingredients that completely immerse you in the experience. The service was so amazing, you can tell that every member of the staff is so excited to have you there. They are so attentive and take complete pride in taking care of you. Shout out to James for making our dining experience so memorable! With amazing food, warm ambience, and service that goes above and beyond, Romanella already feels like a San Diego favorite. You'll want to come back as soon...
