Rosati's Pizza Pub and Sports Bar — Restaurant in San Diego

Edit today, 8/30, I went back today, was greated by a nice person named Tray on the phone, picked up a 16 inch sausage mushrooms with extra, extra sauce, it's very good, 40 minutes from the time I called, thank you, will come back for more of the very good food...

Bron and raised in Chicago I was very happy to see this place open, I've been there 5 times, the first 2 were fantastic, the last 3 very disappointing. I always get a 16 inch thin crust, extra sauce, half mushrooms half sausage, they never put extra sauce on, no matter how many times I say it on the phone, in fact one time I had to hunt to find any sauce at all, I brought that pie back the next day, it looked gross, brown, flat like a frozen pizza you might leave out all night. This Friday I ordered the same thing, and you guessed it, no extra sauce, but even worse it was close to UNBEATABLE, due to salt, WAY to much salt. The salad is good, Italian beef is pretty good, but pizza is the big thing. This brand/franchise has so much potential I hope they get the right staff and stay consistent. I will try 1 more time, but if it's still a mess at least there is Bronx Pizza.. PS, leftover pizza from Rosatis back home was as good if not better than the night before.. the pictures are from the next morning in a sealed container.. Go...

Being from Chicago, I've been to plenty of Rosati's in the past...that being said, I was looking forward to trying out this one. The staff was nice, place was clean, price was as expected...I gave it a 3-star because of the Italian beef sandwich. I've definitely had better...the beef was lacking flavor (not flavorless but just didn't have enough flavor) or maybe it's because they didn't put alot of meat in the sandwich. Seriously, they only filled the roll with about 1/2 the meat they should have. So maybe the meat had flavor but it was dominated by the bread (which was the wrong bread/roll to use by the way) This definitely wasn't Chicago style ... Anyway, I was disappointed with the sandwich but I will give it another try. Hopefully the pizza will be better....

UPDATE - JANUARY 2023 So I felt that I had to this place again...My initial review was harsh, but I'd rather have an honest review than sugar coat it...So I ordered a pizza, nothing special, just a thin crust with a few toppings...Long story short, I probably won't go back...the pizza was not horrible but it definitely wasn't great. Again, being from Chicago, the taste didn't come close to expectations...sauce was bland...overall the taste was just average at best....I'm sorry, I gave it...

This was a second attempt to eat at Rosatis after a first visit a couple of months ago. The experience was the same and we won't b going back. The service there is not good at all. The people who work there are trying but unfortunately most of them don't have food and beverage experience and it shows. The 2 times we have gone in, the place wasn't very busy. There was 4 tables seated and 3 people up at the bar. We were sat upon arrival but then waited 15 mins to b approached for a drink order and then waited and waited to have server come with the drinks. Appetizers came after the entrees were served and apps were cold. Server removed from bill and handled accordingly. No silverware was given with food so had to ask for utensils. No drink refills were offered as staff was way too behind with a less than half seated restaurant. The food is ok so this type of experience the 2 times we have been there will not make us want to go back. The staff needs training on food and beverage techniques to make their jobs more efficient and organized. There was no system as it looked like a bunch of servers in a server nightmare because of improperly trained. I'm sorry but we will not visit...
