my wife's Baja chicken burrito looked tiny compared to my grilled shrimp. I placed it next to my burrito and it was very obvious.
When I commented the server (Lama) first told me it was the way the tortilla was folded that made it appear smaller. I responded by saying that the overall size and contents of the burrito were way too small when compared and that the way the tortilla was folded would be irrelevant.
She then changed her position and proceeded to tell me the Baja is supposed to have less contents inside it. Not willing to continue to argue as it became apparent that, no matter my position, she would persist to explain why our opinion was incorrect.
I did not ask to see the manager because we were not seeking out a free meal, however, I decided to investigate the comment from Lama about the Baja chicken burrito having less contents than the classic grilled shrimp burrito.
Interestingly, on the nutrition menu the Baja chicken is listed as weighing 371 grams and the classic grilled shrimp as weighing 363 grams.
I would not have cared either way, but for her to not simply offer an apology, and tell us that we were wrong instead, I had to verify her odd explanation.
After our meal I approached her and said that in case she ever runs into this type of situation again, she should know that the contents in the chicken burrito are actually listed as being more than the shrimp burrito by 8 grams. Amazingly, she persisted in explaining that "she was just explaining what she saw". She did not however offer an apology until her co-workers started to listed in. She did not stop trying to explain her way out of it so I just left. As I walked away, I over heard her explaining the situation to the shift leader and another employee, which means she never told anyone about our experience.
Some simple training in customer service could have gone a long way. If she would have offered an empathetic apology from the beginning instead of trying to prove to us that we were wrong would have avoided this...
Read moreNearly every time I have gone or ordered from Rubio's something has been not right. From missing items or just wrong order but more times than I can count... I have ordered and paid for the 'especial' tacos and served the regular tacos. This time again. When ordering especial. I was asked 'You mean the fish tacos'? I mean especial taco plate. I was charged for the especial fish taco plate but when I got home and opened the big box. There were 2 regular fish tacos. Nothing else! No bean No rice No chips. And the crispy taco shells, gone! I was left with 2 tortillas and both were RAW! The pieces of fish were about 2 inches in length. Not sure how any place can screw it up that often and as much as they do. Different locations also. One of the questions above being the atmosphere. In all the years of going here I have never seen more than 2 tables occupied and eating. People will wait for orders at tables but not eat there. I know I have never stayed and eaten there. Uninviting as you can get. I'm not doing the cap on Rubio's. Just wish Rubio's would pick a lane. If you're fast food. Get a drive thru. If you're a restaurant. Get some real chairs and tables. Maybe a piece of art. Stay away from the cafeteria looks. Be...
Read moreWent to this Rubios location for the first time today and was shocked at the treatment that I had received from their employees. I ordered a large drink and some tacos, and everything seemed to be going fine. I sat down, ate my food, got a refill on my coke and got on my phone to respond to a couple of text messages. Almost immediately I started feeling sick to my stomach, so I sped into the bathroom and puked up my lunch. I went back to my table, and attempted to plug my phone in to the outlet under my table and almost instantly was approached by a Karen with a Rubios shirt on telling me that I'm not allowed to plug anything in (even though my neighbor's on both sides of me had their phones plugged in). Now it's worth mentioning that I'm a disabled vet in a wheelchair and homeless, but I don't talk to myself, stare at people or smell bad but I just left anyways to avoid a scene and interrupt others dining experience. I went out front to wait for an Uber, and not 5 minutes later, I'm approached by a security guard telling me that they got a call asking him to remove me from the property. It's been quite some time since I've been treated so badly and been...
