Cooks don't understand what well-done fries are. I ask for well done/extra crispy every time I order a california burrito, and almost every time, the fries are soft and limp and white.

Ridiculous. Your cooks are not very intelligent.

Edit: decided to go back and give them one last chance. I asked for the fries well-done as usual, and through the drive-thru window, I watch the cook lay out my tortilla, pile the meat on, pile the cheese on top of the meat(instead of on the tortilla under the meat so it actually melts a bit, but that's a whole other issue I have with nearly every taco shop in SD), then, grab a stainless steel bowl off the line and dump fries from it, onto the burrito. Not from the fryer, from a bowl on the line. So, not only do they not give me the well-done fries I ask for every time, but they can't even give me FRESH FRIES OUT OF THE FRYER.

When the lady in the window handed me my burrito less than a minute after ordering, I refused it, stating there's no way those fries are "well done".

She agreed to have them remake it, to which I heard clear complaints from the kitchen.

two minutes later she hands me another burrito, and I foolishly accept that MAYBE this time the fries will be crispy and well done.

Nope. The fries are just as soft and limp as before, only this time they have a distinct brownness and oily flavor to them.

On top of that, they didn't put ANY salsa in the burrito, when I actually ordered extra salsa and was charged for it too.

Immediately turned around, came back to the restaurante and went inside and demanded a refund.

I can count on one hand the number of times in my life I've turned my car around and taken food back to a restaurant. It takes a lot for me to not eat something once I've already left the drive thru.

Took a lot of self-control not to say something to the cooks, but I stupidly let myself feel bad for them since I work in a kitchen myself(and would never put out the poor quality of food...

We used to love this place. The food was great. It is a little pricey for fast Mexican food, but it was better than most. Then we went in one time and ordered the usual custom meal for my one son with food sensitivities (basically lettuce, grilled chicken and onions - pretty easy) and the woman at the register looked at me like I'd asked for sauteed Iguana! We said, "we get thin all the time" when we are here. She turned and asked the man on the grill (I heard her explain what we had asked for correctly in Spanish) and he shook his head "no." The thing is, we never know what anyone is going to decide to charge us for this - could be $5, $10, $12, whatever. But no one has ever said no to the easy meal (and easy money). I guess these were just new employees, etc., but a hundred dollar order walked out the door because of their no . . . and we won't be returning. Cotixan and other Mexican food places never have a problem with this order, so we will...

The food here was disgusting and the service wasn't much better. I got the potato tacos and they were dripping in oil the mashed potatoes themselves were flavorless except for the pounds of cheese mixed in as a vegan they were awful I ordered it with no cheese on top but next time I will be cautious to ask if there is any mixed in. My fiance ordered the beef enchiladas and they were also disgusting mostly filled with tomatoes peppers and onions and barely any meat at all. Highly disappointed. If you are in San Diego please do not waste your time eating here only to be disappointed. Also if you get fries bring some salt with you they had no seasoning at all. On the bright side the guacamole was a large serving and was some of the...

The adobada burrito is very tasty and the meat ia very flavorful the menu is pretty big so you probably can find most of your local flavors here for Mexican food! It was extremely busy in the drive through but one big plus going for this establishment is the size of their drive through is pretty big it fit our large work truck so it's very convenient. The service was expedient and worth the wait. I would definitely reccomend this establishment at least try it once and you'll see the love they put in their food. I'll definitely be a returning customer thank you for such amazing flavored food!

I ordered the grilled chicken taquitos and the description on DoorDash said crispy rolled tortillas and I received soft shell tacos. I called to ask if that’s how they’re supposed to be because the description said crispy. They gave me the run around and kept talking about the lettuce when I wasn’t even talking about the lettuce. I wasn’t expecting a re do or anything, I just wanted to let them know how it was described on doordash. Don’t order these expecting taquitos, you will be disappointed.
