Carrillo's Tortilleria — Restaurant in San Fernando

I really want to give this place 5 starts because the food is unbelievably good, so all 3 are for the food BUT the service I got yesterday, Wednesday, was beyond unbelievable that I have to complain!! The girl at the counter, who I later asked and was told her name is Carmen, she should not be working a counter when her phone is obviously more important than the customers waiting to be helped!! She’s incredibly RUDE and only seemed to want to help the males in line flirting like she’s hot but she’s not and after she helped 1 damn person she then went straight back on her phone get over yourself girl you look washed up and we’re all here in line WAITING to eat not for you to go off to the side to check your phone laughing like it’s the funniest thing you’ve ever read! Management should really watch this and ban phones if their employees are constantly on them like this girl was the whole time we were there, I watched her cuz she pissed me off! I also saw they have other locations so I’ll be trying those out because as long as that Carmen girl is there I’ll no longer be their customer! Better service at other places than to have to compete with a cashier’s phone!! I hate that!!!...

My experience with Carrillo's has been a hit and miss the past ten years. I remember as a young child ,they had a food truck and would sell across the parking lot from their current location. They had the best tamales because I grew up with them, they where unchallenged. Unfortunately years ago their qulity started to take a turn for the worst. I complained to my mom and she told me the original owners had retired and the kids had taken over, what a shame! Since then I have been disappointed on several occasions, such as getting rotten tamales, dried out tamales, no meat tamales or just plain i dont know what they've done with these tamales, they re not what they use to be. I been heartbroken by their dive in quality but have always hoped they would someday turn around. I have threatened them that if I got another batch of bad tamales I would report them to George Lopez! Ive been looking for another place to replace carrillo's and recently found manglys on Mcclay,they make good tomales, but I was raised on carrillo's and can never get them out of my head. It kinda like an old flame that never leaves your thoughts, but u know the relationship is no...

I've been a loyal customer of years and honestly the service has never been as bad as lately. When i ordered right after they reopened after the pandemic the food wasn't even hot and made to order it literally was just cold as if it had been sitting out all day.

I decided to give them one more try tonight. I ordered by phone like they advised and what's the point of they repeat your order 3x and still can't get the order right. They ran out of chicharron and instead of making it and letting me decide the meat when i get there they didn't even bother to make the tostada causing me to wait 10 minutes. Then i ordered drinks they didn't include those either so i had to order those and then even after repeating my order 3x they still didn't make the taquitos a la carte so i had to wait additional time. Like how hard is it to get an order right especially if its repeated and if someone spends over $60.

I get home and to my surprise the tostada they had to reorder was not even carne asada it was chicken which i did not order.

Sadly they've lost a loyal customer because this never happens at other area...
