My mom and I used to go here for cakes but management has changed. The woman that greets you is extremely rude. Glasses and a nose piercing, black hair. I didn't get her name. She wouldn't help me design a cake, wouldn't give me ideas, wouldn't sketch an idea because she only does that when she knows she's going to get a sale, as she stated. I've never ordered a cake by myself for anyone to be designed and no guidance was given. She stated I need a picture. I showed her photos and she said she couldn't do anything shown without fondant (we don't like the taste of fondant). I asked what could be done with frosting and she said none of those. Again, I had to think for a baker which isn't my Forte. I asked to just do an all black cake with red roses, she said no because black has too much chemicals and tastes horrible. I asked if it could be covered in chocolate and she said we only have one design for that and it's in front of you. I said okay can we alter it to do two tiers and add red roses? She rolled her eyes and said sure with a price of around 130. I asked can we do a sketch before I pay and as she walked away she glared at me and said, as I previously mentioned, I only do sketches when I know you're going to order... are you going to order? At that point, and earlier, I could tell I wasn't wanted in their establishment so I said it's fine, I'm going to leave because you don't seem to like me. This place used to have really nice employees. The manager was amazing and designed my whole 21st birthday cake, my mom was there, without having to be ready to order. Plus, how can you agree to order if you don't know what it'll look like. That was sad to have that experience because there were such good memories there. This woman tarnished them in minutes. I'm sorry I don't look the part but I've lived here my whole life. Don't treat me like I'm unwanted just because I don't match the...

The tres leches cake we bought had visible MOLD on topâabsolutely unacceptable. We didnât notice at first and took a bite because we love tres leches, but it was rancid, sour, and reeked of spoiled milk once we looked closer.
We also bought a slice of Oreo cake and a box of buñuelos. The Oreo cake didnât have visible mold or a bad smell, but it was extremely bland and disappointing. The buñuelos were the best of the three, but even they tasted stale, like theyâd been sitting out for a while.
Overall, this was a really upsetting experience. Serving moldy food is a serious issueâdefinitely wonât be back. Would like a refund ASAP.
7/23 UPDATE
Called and spoke to Elena , she stated the slice was made Friday (5 days prior to me buying it). She stated she could refund the slice, I mentioned how we didnât eat any of the items due to the already moldy food and we didnât want to risk it further. She stated she would need to talk to Alex the manager to see if we could get the full refund. We live 2 hours away from this bakery and they want me to bring the items in to verify in order to possibly give a refundâŠphotos should suffice shouldnât they. Going to send the photos to them and hopefully get this resolved. Was told to call back later to speak to Alex the manager.
UPDATE: got a call back and they agreed to refund the...
Read moreOrdered 2 cakes weeks in advance for $ 65.00 paid at the tome of the order (main cake with filling and a smash cake), and was told the that the 2 cakes would be ready by 10:00 A.M. the day of the Birthday Party for our 1 year old, arrived at 10:30 the day of the party and was informed that the cakes were not ready and haven't even started on the order, had to wait over 1.5 hours to have the cakes made. When it came to cutting the cake, to our surprise found 2 long hairs in the filling in the main cake with filling which was very embarrassing and gross and could not serve any of the cake and the same day we sent photo's of the hairs in the cake to Lotus Bakery and explained as to the order not being ready on time and the hairs in the cake, and received a response supposedly from the owner that the best they could offer is a discount on a future order, assuming that we would be back based on the bad experience, made no effort to resolve the problem immediately, so disappointing, what ever happen to customer service, making things right when they have gone wrong and keeping a customer happy for repeat business, seems Lotus Bakery doesn't need my business. The Sylmar/San Fernando area is a small community and news...
