A friend treated us to lunch here and that's how I ended up here a second time. I recalled visiting Blue Barn two or three years ago, but I could not remember how my meal went or why I never went back.
I ordered the Truffle Sando which came with peppered turkey breast, brie d’affinois, balsamic onions, tomatoes, mixed greens, and truffled garlic aioli on herbed focaccia. There was a humble amount of balsamic onions which gave you a tangy bite without overshadowing the star, the truffled garlic aioli. The bread was fresh, the turkey moist, and they slaughtered a generous amount of aioli. It sounds great, but somehow ended up disappointing because it was surprisingly bland. It’s a decent sandwich but not something I’ll be craving for anytime soon.
My partner ordered the Kickin’ Chicken Sando which came with grilled chicken, a house made BBQ sauce, Niman bacon, smoked gouda, caramelized onions, and thyme slaw on a ciabatta roll. Everything was fresh just like my sandwich and the flavors were stick to your ribs good without the cardiac arrest effect. However I couldn’t get over the cold gouda which coated your mouth and made me forget that there were other elements in this sandwich.
I also ordered a side of fries with ketchup because I was told all dressings were house made. Then the cashier corrected himself and said that all dressings except for the ketchup, which is Heinz organic, is house made. I was slightly irked because I could have ordered the slightly less evil side salad drenched in dressing. We ended up trying their ranch and spicy mustard. I didn’t care for either one because there was too much buttermilk in the ranch and the mustard was too spicy for me.

Read moreWe've been ordering from Barney's in the past 3 years since we moved to Noe. Unfortunately in the last few months they started to have constant issues.
They constantly forget to put all items in the bag (we order pick up through Caviar and always ask them twice to make sure all items are in the bag, and then we arrive home to find out they forgot to some of the items)
Bun is not fresh, taste like it's been sitting there for few days. When you run a burger joint you need to make sure you have fresh new buns dally.
Food is cold, simply because they don't mark on the app that the order is ready for pickup. Laziness.
We ask them for medium-rear and receive a burnt patty.
Staff is not professional and doesn't care about the business. Pure example of how mismanagement on-sight is ruining a business. Then the owner looks at the revenue decline overtime and don't understand why, classic.
Will never order...
Read moreThis place is so weird. Friend and I came for Lunch back in January. The place was not overly busy or crowded but there was only 1 server and 1 bus boy for the entire restaurant. We waited 10 minutes for our server to greet us, and another 15 minutes for our waters/drinks to come out.
They have a large menu obviously pushing their hamburgers. We ordered a couple burgers and fries. The fries were very good. Their 'gourmet' burgers were oversized hockey pucks and not the best tasting beef I've ever had.
And this may be picky but the vibe and decor of the restaurant was just so incredibly odd. There were cheap Mediterranean looking decorations strewn on the walls, and what I believe was a polka sort of music playing? The whole experience was incredibly weird and disappointing.
We saw this place from outside and even the menu looked really solid, but the food and service was bad, and the vibe was weird. We were...
