3/162024* I went for the Chili Cha Cha Spicy Pan Fried Noodle. It's packed with egg noodles, duck, veggies, fresh chili, and basil. It's got a real kick to it!
9/30/2023 This time, I tried the Chili Cha Cha Spicy Pan Fried Noodle, which consists of egg noodles stir-fried with duck, mixed vegetables, fresh chili, and basil leaves. It's quite spicy. Overall, it tastes good, but the strong flavor of white pepper tends to overshadow the other ingredients, which is a bit disappointing. We also ordered their mango sticky rice for dessert, and it was delicious! I would wholeheartedly recommend their Pad See-ew.
8/7/2023 Returning for the second time to Chili Cha Cha 2, I was determined to take on their ultimate spice challenge: "very hot." Just like in my previous review, I was ready for an unforgettable experience.
Our choice for starters was the Dressed Prawn (6pcs) – fried marinated prawns enveloped in a delicate spring roll sheet, accompanied by a sensational Sriracha cream sauce. The cream sauce, in particular, was an absolute delight.
This time around, I ordered the Thai Spicy Pan Fried Noodle (PAD KEE MAO). This dish, a symphony of flat rice noodles stir-fried with an array of ingredients including mushrooms, bamboo shoots, broccoli, bell pepper, onion, and basil, was a spicy adventure I couldn't resist. I must admit, the spice level had my forehead breaking a light sweat, but oh, was it worth it! The dish was an explosion of deliciousness, with flavors that truly delighted my taste buds.
For the true spicy food enthusiasts, the "very hot" level is a must-try. It's a fiery punch that leaves a memorable impression. However, if you prefer occasional spice, I'd recommend the medium or hot level for a satisfying kick without setting your taste buds ablaze.
7/26/2023* We had the Pad See-Ew at Chili Cha Cha 2, a dish that features pan-fried flat rice noodles with Chinese broccoli, egg, and chicken, all seasoned with black soy sauce. We opted for the "hot" level of spiciness, and it truly left a remarkable impression on us!
In terms of taste and flavor, this Pad See-Ew ranks among the top 3 I've ever had, even compared to the ones in Albany, CA, and New York. The seasoning was on point, perfectly balanced and satisfying. When the waitress brought the dish to our table, the sight of the hot steam escaping from it only added to our anticipation. (Please find the attached photo for reference!)
The dish was incredibly flavorful and delicious, with just the right amount of spiciness – a feature that I personally enjoyed the most. In fact, my partner found it so spicy that he was sweating throughout the entire meal! He even commented that it was spicier than the Pad See-Ew he had in Thailand – quite the compliment!
The attentive and accommodating service from our server was much appreciated. She consistently checked in with us, ensuring our dining experience was enjoyable.
I'm already looking forward to our next visit, where we plan to try the next spicy level, "very hot"! Overall, our experience at Chili Cha Cha 2 was fantastic, and I can confidently recommend it to anyone craving some flavorful and...
Read moreI'm a rideshare driver and one of my riders recommended Chili Cha Cha 2 -- I can't always go to every restaurant a rider recommends but I decided to give this one a shot -- and it has become my favorite Thai restaurant in the city!*
One of the best chicken satays I have ever had. Chicken cooked perfectly and they put the excellent peanut sauce and the traditional cucumber salad accompaniment directly on the serving dish with the satay, instead of in two small side bowls. After you finish the chicken you can enjoy the cucumbers right in the plate with both sauces mixed together. Makes for some amazing flavors.
Love their pad Thai (perfect flavor, not too sweet, not too fishy), soups (Tom Kha is wonderful) and curries, all great -- and get whichever curry you choose with their coconut rice -- awesome! (They actually have four choices of rice.)
Even Thai Iced Tea, not always great at some places, is the perfect taste here.
So far, I have only had one item on their menu that I didn't care for: Peanut Noodles. Not what I expected -- just 'ok.'
But I am a massive fan of this truly "comfort food" Thai restaurant -- and I'll bet you'll be too.
*Previous favorites Ploy II in the Upper Haight, House Of Thai in the TenderNob, and King's Thai Noodles on Clement have all now fallen down the list -- although R'noh Thai in Larkspur is one I can say still rivals Chili Cha...
Read moreThis is favorite Thai restaurant in the Mission and possibly SF. One of my favorite plates here are the green beans (your choice of protein with all the plate), and spicy basil! The curry all of them are delicious. I really like the lunch combo plate, its a good deal for $14.95You get a choice of entree, rice, i chose coconut, and choice of salad or soup. I got for the salad... always. Their dressing is sooo good. The lychee drink is tasty and very sweet. If you don't like sweet drinks don't get this or the thai iced tea.i myself love them Didn't fully enjoy the coconut sweet milky soup. In addition you get a choice of appetizers either fried pot stickers (my choice), crispt tofu, or spring rolls. Lastly i cannot go without recommending that for dessert you go with the fried banana with a scoop of ice cream. Its to die...
