India Clay Oven has instantly become my favorite dining spot in San Francisco! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with an ambiance that is both sophisticated and inviting, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.
The food is absolutely fantastic. The flavors are rich and authentic, with meats that are incredibly tender. The chicken, marinated to perfection, was so soft it practically fell apart on the fork. The lamb was cooked just right, not overly fatty as I’ve often encountered at other Indian restaurants. Each bite was a delightful blend of spices and textures. The chutney, fresh and with a perfect kick, complemented every dish beautifully.
The naan deserves a special mention—it was clear that it had just come off their clay oven. It was soft, with a wonderful garlic flavor that was simply irresistible.
The interior is one of the nicest I’ve seen in San Francisco. The elegance of the tablecloths and full dining sets is a rarity at this price point, making the dining experience feel luxurious yet accessible.
Service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly attentive and cordial, ensuring that our table was cleared of extra dining sets promptly and with grace. They checked in regularly to ensure we were satisfied, adding a personal touch to the evening that made us feel truly valued.
India Clay Oven offers a dining experience that is second to none. I will certainly be returning and I strongly suggest you...
Read moreI recently tried India Clay Oven in San Francisco, and I've got to say, I was really impressed. The food was incredibly tasty - a big win in my book. I had the Malai Kofta, and it was divine. The flavors were rich and perfectly spiced, definitely something I'd order again.
My friends tried the Saag Paneer and the Kashmiri Lamb, and both dishes were hits at our table. The Saag Paneer had a great texture and flavor, and the lamb was cooked just right, with a depth of flavor that was truly satisfying.
The Naan bread deserves a mention too – it was soft, fresh, and a perfect side for our meals. As for drinks, I didn't have any alcohol, but they offer $4 draft beers, which is pretty amazing, especially for San Francisco.
Price-wise, it's really reasonable, especially considering the usual cost of dining out in the city. And the service? Super good. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
I'd definitely go back to India Clay Oven. If you're in the area and fancy some tasty Indian food, give it a try – I doubt you'll be...
Read moreIndia Clay Oven Restaurant and Bar was fantastic. We were seated immediately, the decor consisted of 25+ year old traditional paintings. The owner has had this restaurant there for 30+ years and has a big following. He has asked directly how our meal was and offered to bring more - no charge. He was very accommodating and so genuinely kind. The food was delicious. We had the garlic naan, samosas, chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken. We had the Pinot Noir and it was delicious and paired perfectly with our meals. Before we got the bill, we were given a complimentary dessert that was vanilla ice cream with coconut shavings - delicious! This restaurant has a back room suitable for events and a full bar with bar seating and booths. This place is great for big groups and small children. We’ve eaten in the very front where it is a more romantic vibe and we’ve also eaten by choice by bar area (to watch the Warriors game) which is nice, and more relaxed/private seating option. 5 star excellence both times we’ve dined here. We’ll...
