After a long visit to the UCSF Medical Center to see our mother, we decided to stop by the May Lee Restaurant for a quick early dinner before heading back to Sacramento. We were immediately greeted by a friendly gentleman who welcomed us to the restaurant.
The restaurant itself is a cute little old-school Frisco diner. The dining area is quite small, but it looks like they’re more geared towards take out and DoorDash orders. The menu had a lot of options, so it was hard for us to decide what to order. There is Definitely something for Everyone!
My sister ended up getting one of the combo plates with Walnut shrimp, my niece got the Curry Chicken and I got the Ginger Beef. My ginger beef was not too heavy with the sauce, which I really liked and the beef was Super tender! All the veggies were very fresh and not over cooked at all. We also decided to get the Har Gau Shrimp appetizer. Everything was cooked to perfection and the shrimp was especially delicious. To top it off, they also give you free veggie egg rolls over a $35 order! Ours were crisp and tasty ☺️
BONUS!!! They have FAUX Beef and Chicken sections on the menu!!! And quite a few Yummy looking selections!!! ATTENTION ALL VEGGIES!!! 👏👏👏
Overall, our experience at May Lee Restaurant was great. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty and affordable meal...
Read moreit isnt exactly the BEST chinese food that i have ever had, but it is far from the worst. as many have said before me, it seems as if this buisness thrives on deliveries... but i ordered take out, so i can not comment on the delivery times.
i stopped by on my way home to pick up a quick lunch special. i ordered the spicy salt and peper pork rib and forked down the extra 80 cents to upgrade to chow mein. the pork rib was battered and deep fried... which was unexpected, and it turned out to be a touch oily. despite this minor flaw, it was perfectly seasoned, hot and delicious. the chow mein was veggie chow mein and the noodles were thicker than i am used to, but was far from the cheap generic stuff that you can find on every corner.
i have walked passed the place a few times before the smells finally enticed me to come inside. my first impression of the food wasnt bad... but wasnt great, but it was good enough to get me to go back and check out some of their a la carte items. the dinning room is really small, only 3 or 4 tables MAX.
i would recommend take out or delivery. the place isnt really flashy either, so it might be a turn down to some people in that nature.
i would suggest to at least try it for yourself... it is worth that...
Read moreMy family and I were at San Francisco for a volleyball tournament. We were visiting from El Paso TX. We’re huge fans of the Asian cuisine and we were looking for that hole in the wall that wouldn’t disappoint. Using this platform, May Lee came up and we decided to give it a try as we were wondering and venturing around the city. As we arrived, we did spend about few minutes to find a parking spot due to the surrounding neighborhood but it didn’t take long before we found a spot and parked. Sure enough, we went to May Lee and the service, atmosphere, and food DID NOT disappoint. Great service, very private (it was the perfect lunch scenario), and the food…OMG! Everything was delicious! We order 6 different plates with a combination of dumplings and everything was GONE. Great taste, authentic, the different sabor of delicious combinations as soon as it connected with the palette. We were very pleased and content with everything May Lee has to offer. Definitely a must go if you’re a local in the San Francisco area or if you’re visiting from out of town and if you’re a fan or love Asian cuisine, May Lee is your place. 10/10 and...
