Metro Caffe — Restaurant in San Francisco

I consider myself fortunate moving a block away from Metro not because of their excellent and speedy service or their expansive menu choices but because they make the best burgers I’ve had in ages. Omar and his staff have fed me a weekly burger of consistent quality and masterful construction since moving to the lower Haight. The magic of this cheesesteak restaurant is that they also make a great burger. Hand formed patties cooked on a charcoal grill with a perfect balance of veggies and condiments makes for the most consistently excellent burger experience I’ve ever enjoyed. I've been coming here forever! I always get the pastrami cheesesteak and maybe tots on the side. The pastrami is so good and lean! I love how they dice it and grill it. I introduced this place to some associates when I was working in the financial district years ago. Service here was pretty terrible. They were unfriendly at the point of sale. After I had traveled to get there because they were listed as open until 10, I pay at 8:35 assuming I can sit down to enjoy my food and then the guy informs me that they have to close early at 9. Would have been nice to know before I paid. And they could have taken 5 minutes out of their day to post an update to their hours to avoid inconveniencing people. The food...
