My go-to, around the corner Park to take my dogs to everyday. Most of the time there's not many people there, maybe a basketball player and a couple of kids in the playground. Sometimes they have younger kids classes that come in to learn about gardening in the back community garden area. It can get a little busy and noisy with a lot of kids there at that time but it's a park you should expect the kids to be there being loud. But what's nice is they're not their 80% of the time and it's a relatively quiet small city park to spend some quiet time in. If you go to the back past the playground and basketball courts you'll find the winding path that goes down to the community garden where you can rent garden plots in case you don't have a yard where you live, you can still grow your own vegetables if you want. Like all parks in the city they close at dusk so if you're there after dark make sure you have a dog with you.
I couldn't be happier living next to another Park. This park is the perfect size and the perfect amount of people most of the time I can't complain. Try it but don't tell many people about it cuz I'd like to keep it a somewhat...
Read moreMagical relaxing place at the heart of the city. Great light all day. We need much more of places like this. We need to live in the garden for our hearts to expand and heal. Anyway let's see... There is a.. Nice basketball court, one basket only, there are two water fountains right next to it. Small children play area has fantastic climbing structures and is kept clean, and has convenient safety fence around it with latch gate. There is a gorgeous seating area, overlooking the city slightly. Last but certainly not least is the school garden with native plants, fruits and vegetables. Compost, also available are some flowerbeds available for gardening enthusiasts to...
Read moreI was born and raised in SF then relocated to Florida, Seminole Heights, eventually moved back to SF. I love all my parks raise my kids around them. Koshland Community Park is one of those park that just has it all. This park is my second favorite to Lafayette Park also in SF. Here you get a sense of safety and cleanliness every time when you visit. Cement staircase can be tricky at night saw couple of people getting trip up. Kids play area is graffiti free and drug paraphernalia free. Be careful when parking on the street and read when street cleaning is, it's not always early mornings some are 6-8am and 8-10am. I represent city by the bay district...
