you want chicken and rice? go get good gais, they're better. i paid an extra 2$ for all thigh meat but got old breast meat and i couldn't even bring it back because they wrap the whole thing in a brown bag, so i obviously can't tell or let them know, until i opened it (wherever i was to eat it). as you can see, i got the original. with breast meat and thigh. very disappointed. customer service is good. they were super fast which i appreciate. but taste. oh man. the only thing that rooster does right is the soup. the soup tastes like the chicken itself so it's true and authentic. but everything else is no good. ok in this particular flavor critique portion/paragraph of the review, i won't compare it and give you the facts. the meat is dry and bland. the garlic in the rice isn't strong enough so if i ever to just eat the rice and chicken with no sauce, it tastes like barely anything. --and the sauce is overpowering and i personally don't feel like is authentic, it feels more fusion style sauce to me. so if you were to eat anything with the sauce, it's just the sauce and you can taste nothing else. if the sauce doesn't compliment the other flavors, it's a failure as a sauce. if ya want like good chicken n rice that is worth your buck and tastes much more complimentary flavor wise, go to good gais. it's the same price but taste so much better and flavorful.

Came here with a group of friends before watching a movie together. Good: - The portion sizes are good and the price isn't too bad - The food here feels very healthy, I got the original bowl with no modifications - The service is decently fast as well Bad: - It doesn't have much seating so we had to leave to go sit somewhere - I don't like how bland the chicken and rice gets after having more than half of it Overall this was an average location for what I've tried, I've had better Rooster and Rices in the past.

Food was good. Tried the Marina and one of their specials, the pork entree with soft boiled eggs. Enjoyed the sauce and broth on side, just right. Prices are "SF average"(as I like to say now), but portions are generous. Small bit of a wait, but they were just opening for the day so it's understandable and the food was fresh, hence wait. Quite a line when I passed by again later in day, so consider ordering ahead or coming in early. One of the more healthy options in the mall, imo. Would come back again.

Ordered two orders of chicken and rice. It normally comes with one thigh and one breast. They asked us if we just wanted thigh and so we said sure and didn't think to check the order. When we got home, was surprised to find they only gave us one thigh per order at $16 per order instead of two thigh pieces. Shlepped all the way back to Stonestown because portions were tiny and the person said yes you asked for thigh meat so we didn't include the breast meat. When trying to explain that we were given 30-50% the amount of meat that normally comes with the order, she said we get what we get and the kitchen decides and asked if we wanted purchase additional meat for $5. You mean the rest of our order that we have already paid for? They eventually gave us the rest of our portions after pressing the issue but the issue was not...

I usually go to the rooster and rice either in the casserole or in the financial district. Because I was at stonestown I decided to pick some up here. This was extremely disappointing. The chicken was so dry they actually had to use some of the broth to port on the chicken. The problem with what that is the broth is so salty that you can't actually even drink it. Then I ordered an extra side of chicken and they gave me this tiny little container that was a third full of chicken for $5. Usually at the other locations when I add extra chicken they add it to the bowl and not give me a tiny little container. Top of that the container of food that I got had less food then what I normally get at the other locations too. I definitely won't come back to...
