Route 101 — Restaurant in San Francisco

My family’s last night in San Francisco, me and my brother stopped in to get some affordable drinks after a night of the more expensive cocktails the neighborhood has to offer. Tuesday night bar tender w/ gages refused our Colorado IDs and accused them of being fake immediately after glancing at them for 1 second. I understand bartenders have to use their discretion when serving alcohol to young people (im 21 and my brother is 25) but he didn’t even hold the IDs in his own hand or proceed with any security measures. Was extremely disrespectful about the whole situation considering the bar is located near a bunch of hotels im sure they get a decent amount of tourists w/ out of state IDs. pretty crazy power trip to take considering the bar was...

Sigh. A place like this should be low key and simple... The dimly lit ambiance is a little grimy; my kinda place. Prices are cheaper than some of the other bars in the area.

As some of the other reviews have noted, Alex (bartender with gages and little guy síndrome) is absolutely insufferable. One star is due to Alex being unnecessarily condescending and intoxicated behind the bar. He was slurring his words when he told me the price of a drink and he either over charged me or gave me the wrong price, not sure.

Enjoy this picture of Alex taking shots behind the bar with regulars and encouraging guests to throw straws. If you see this guy behind the bar, do yourself a favor and pick another dive...

This bar is racist to Hispanics/Latinos. My wife and I were trying to get a drink and the bar tender an older white lady. Asked us to leave as soon as we were about to sit down. My wife and I are are both on the hospitality industry and lets just say they are not very hospitable to outsiders. So if your not from San Francisco STAY AWAY FROM HERE and save yourself the embarrassment of being asked to leave for no given reason...
