Loved the band playing, but the ballroom staff was disorganized and on a power trip. I agree with a previous reviewer about the security having to move the line. Some staff would tell us to do one thing, then another member would start YELLING at us to not do it! The sound board guy on the night of the Rose concert (May 29th?) was even telling us where to go, in the opposite direction the other staff was yelling at us to go in. It was a nice, intimate concert, and the attendees were well behaved, but this particular older-than-30 security member decided he needed to run things like a prisoner-of-war camp and made the experience not as should be. Won't say his name, but he walked with a bit of a slouch, had his hood up outside while he was patrolling the lines earlier in the day, looked positively disagreeable the entire time, and was the older (I'm assuming) of three African-American gentlemen that worked there that night. Rather than treating humans beings with respect, he snapped at people for breaking rules that no one even knew were rules. Instead of, "Please no pictures of that right now," he kept yelling at the girls in front of me in line as if they were supposed to know. The entire night he was treating people as if they were livestock that needed to stay in line, supplementing his jabs with, "I don't know why you're even here if you wanna do that." No one, no staff member or attendee was arguing with him or talking back, just taking his fury. I believe we stayed silent in case we were kicked out for questioning him. For my ticket price of $150 I didn't expect to get treated like a guest at a nice hotel, but I at least expected some human decency. My condolences for whatever that man was going through that made him so disagreeable, and I hope that in the future, he will feel like a big man without having to bully adults as if they were kids on...

The ballroom itself is a sight to behold, with its high ceilings, intricate architectural details, and magnificent chandeliers that cast a warm and enchanting glow. The spacious layout provides ample room for guests to move and dance, creating a sense of freedom and celebration.
The venue's acoustics are exceptional, ensuring that every note of live music or spoken word is clear and resonant. The sound quality enhances the overall experience and leaves a lasting impression.
The staff at the Regency Ballroom is attentive and professional, ensuring that every aspect of the event runs smoothly. They go above and beyond to accommodate the needs and desires of their guests. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence contribute to a seamless and memorable experience.
However, it is worth noting that the restroom facilities could benefit from a renovation. While they are functional, they may not meet the same level of elegance and quality found at other venues. A refurbishment of the restrooms would enhance the overall experience and align with the high standards set by the Regency Ballroom in other aspects.
One aspect to consider is the venue's location. Situated on Van Ness and Sutter, it provides easy access for guests and offers proximity to other amenities and attractions. However, parking availability is limited, so it's advisable to plan accordingly and consider alternative transportation options.
In conclusion, the Regency Ballroom is a premier venue that combines architectural beauty and good service. While the restroom facilities could benefit from a renovation, the overall experience of the venue is...
Read moreI recently won two pairs of tickets from DoTheBay for the Sango + Rochelle Jordan concert at the Regency Ballroom, and I couldn’t have been more excited to check it out! My partner and I arrived early, and the admission process was smooth and hassle-free. We breezed through security and check-in, which was a nice surprise.
Upon entering, I immediately noticed how attentive the staff were—genuinely interested in helping us find our way to our seats and making sure we were all set with our winning tickets. The Regency Ballroom itself has a clean, classy vibe that’s also laid-back and inviting, a perfect setting for a night of live music.
The crowd that night was a perfect fit for the show—welcoming, chill, and full of energy. The majority of the audience seemed to be young Asian women, with a mix of college students and LGBTQ-friendly folks, creating an inclusive and positive atmosphere. It felt like everyone was in the right place, enjoying the music and good company.
Rochelle Jordan’s DJ absolutely crushed it, setting the tone for the night with a mix of fresh, high-energy beats that blended modern West Coast sensibilities with a party-ready vibe. It was like a fusion of GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion, and Kendrick Lamar—perfect for hyping up the crowd. One standout moment? If the DJ had just played Kendrick Lamar’s “TV Off” all night, I wouldn’t have been mad—it was that vibe.
Overall, the night was a celebration of good music, great vibes, and good company. The energy in the room was infectious, with the crowd singing along and shouting things like “musssstardddd” in unison. It was a perfect blend of cozy and electrifying, making for an unforgettable...
