Second time here. This is a hidden gem! If you're new to Himalayan or Nepalese food, please give this a try. Family owned with traditional decor. The looping Nat Geo images of life with complementing music is a great addition to the ambiance. I have been here for lunch and dinner and have been pleased both times.
I have tried 6 different curries to date and they not only have their own distinct flavors but are offered to guests in a copper pot versus a typical bowl. Classic Organic Chicken Curry Classic Lamb Curry Kukhurako Ledo is the equivalent of Tikka Masala Chicken Coco Nutty Chicken
For sizzling platters we ordered the Mixed Grill (which comes with 2 generous pieces of each protein--salmon, lamb and chicken on a bed of grilled onions and bell peppers) and the Pork Ribs. Both delicious without being dry.
Each of the above orders come with your choice of basmati rice or plain naan. You can upgrade for a flavored naan (butter $0.50) or (garlic $0.75) which is a welcome reprieve from all the up-charges other SF restaurants charge.
Now for dessert...everything is made in-house. A must try are the mango and pistachio ice creams. The Dudh Chiya was strong and creamy. The Lalmohan was syrup-y and sticky as it should be!
The 4 House Wines are on a BOGO deal now at a mere $6 per glass!
The family checked on us without being overbearing. Service was prompt and friendly. Again, a family-run business that needs our support that serves delicious food without costing an arm and a leg. Easy...

The garlic basil naan was fresh out of the oven and had the perfect balance of crispy edges and soft, pillowy center. We couldn't stop tearing pieces off to soak up every bit of sauce. The kukhra bhanta (chicken and eggplant) was a delightful surprise - the eggplant was silky and absorbed all the wonderful spices, while the chicken remained tender and juicy.
What really made the experience special was the genuine warmth of the staff. They were happy to explain dishes and made excellent recommendations. The dining room has a cozy, inviting feel that makes you want to linger over your meal.
At around $25 per person, it's fantastic value for the quality and portion sizes. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu - already eyeing those momos everyone...
Read moreWe came here on their first day of soft opening , Thursday 19th for dinner. Overall, we were pretty pleased about the overall experience and left happy that this place opened up in our neighborhood.
My kid wanted different types of momo ( Nepalese dumping ) so we ordered momo plater. It had total 9 momos including 3 pork , 3 chicken and 3 veggies. They were all pretty good and juicy inside. The sauce was pretty interesting. It was sesame based and I hoped something vinegary to cut the fatty tasty of momos but they weren’t too bad.
We tried explosive chicken as an appetizer and it was pretty good. It’s got tangy and sweet flavor but also was able to taste different spices.
We also tried chicken coco which is similar to curry but has coconut based sauce. We ordered mild spicy for the kid but it was a bit blend for my taste. I thought it probably was good if we ordered medium spicy or spicer.
Overall, the price was reasonably priced given the entry comes with rice or naan.
I would definitely come back to try other Nepalese...
