SPARK Social SF — Restaurant in San Francisco

After a turbulent and tumultuous 2020, I wasn't really sure if I'd be able to celebrate turning 30 with friends. But when looking at potential spots, Spark Social was at the ready - they were available for reservations and had a detailed list of safety precautions that made me feel comfortable about hosting a safe, mask required, socially distanced get-together with friends for my birthday.

Spark Social's reservation system made the entire process seamless. I was able to book a 2-hour slot with ease, and I added food / beverage tickets to my order so people wouldn't have to hassle with cash and cards when grabbing food at the venue. I was able to process everything digitally without issue - communication was fast and helpful and the process couldn't be easier.

On the day of the event, I couldn't be happier with the setup! Spark Social had pre-cleaned and sanitized every surface and had signs set up so my friends knew where to go and so other folks knew that the space was reserved. Check-in at the office was easy and I could the tickets without a hitch.

The bus that we rented was such an amazing space - super spacious and quirky and my guests loved it! Getting food and drink was easy - the space is centrally located and there's tons of trucks nearby. Everyone had a ton of fun hanging out on the patio area and on the open air deck on the top of the bus. It was awesome! And the kind folks at Spark Social let us stay an extra hour since there was some time between rentals - what better service is there than that?

Overall, I'm so thankful to Spark Social for helping me host an amazing get-together with my friends for my 30th birthday. 2020 has been a tough time for all of us, but Spark Social made it easy for my friends and I to reconnect and spend some time together in person. I threw my birthday party here and had a BLAST. I was looking for a place that doesn't necessarily involve alcohol because I don't drink and something that can accommodate/cater 20+ guests. I booked one of the Alcoves because I had a few different friend groups that have never met each other and I wanted them to sit closer than the fire fits. The seats and tables were easy to re-arrange. We put tables together and played board games that I brought. The weather was perfect on a September night, the park was beautiful and spacious, and there were enough food options, which were slightly pricey but fine as it's sf. One thing I missed was that my friends brought birthday cakes and we needed to go to Gus's community market (1101 4th street) to buy plates and utensils. When I booked it I was not sure if I really had to book because it was not fully booked when I made the reservation a week before, I thought I might just show up and grab a spot but no, on the day the reservation spaces were FULLY booked.
