One of the best hotels in the whole country! Where do I start?
Valet: Spacious 2 lane area for valet, the valet was very helpful getting out luggage out; While going out the car was brought up front at a reasonable time.
Check-in process: Very welcoming front desk people, smooth checking in took less than 3 minutes to get our keys
Staff: Front desk - Kevin did a fantastic job checking us in, he was professional and courteous; he communicated the status of our requests promptly. Hector was kind and did a good job brining in our things. Henry the little robot was super cute and a great use of technology.
Design: Oh my god, the architect and the designers of this project deserve an award for using the space efficiently. Many other star hotels could learn a thing or two from this hotel. We loved the minimalist design, fantastic large windows, bring natural light into the room. They had digital sheer and blackout screens which were very cool. A huge window from the bathroom that also had the blackout screen. Bathroom was designed very efficiently with the minimal space. Interior decorator also did a great job picking out nice details for the lobby.
Bed: Comfortable beds and the linen was clean and very soft. Even our baby was super happy with it.
Crib: A new baby crib was given to us with a comfy crib mattress. The fitted sheet was extremely soft and perfect for the mattress. Our baby loved it and slept very well during the night.
Bathroom: Well designed bathroom, that now I feel our home bathroom needs to be redesigned đ It raised the standard to a new level. They might be using less or maybe same space as in other hotels but this one looks and feels spacious. Their hair dryer Chi was also modern with a touchscreen.
Floor: The carpet in the room was synthetic and easy to clean, hence the room looked very clean. Every other hotel with a carpet captures dirtiness and smells and spills which donât go away with just vacuuming, this synthetic carpet is the modern approach to solving that problem. They deserve an award.
I have so many good things to say about this hotel and will definitely come back to stay here longer.
Dear Luma Management- Please donât change your standards or the staff! Thank you for the wonderful stay for me...
Read moreThis is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in San Francisco & I have ever stayed at many. I highly recommend this hotel because they focus on customer service, cleanliness, going above and beyond to make sure that guests have a great stay, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, MAKING SURE THEY GUESS HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE IN COMFORTABLE STAY HERE AT LUMA. I came here back in March for a concert to celebrate my friend birthday. I contacted the hotel and scheduled a room tour in which they were able to accommodate so that we knew which type of room we wanted to book. Janet was able to assist with that room tour and she was very knowledgeable about the area and the details of each different type of room layout that they have. It was like going On a tour for a new apartment. Once arriving, the manager Russell, you can see multitasking in the vallet area, the front desk, and even helped me Carry so much luggage into the hotel, he was very helpful. He also helped me when it came to surprising. My guest with a birthday surprise. I really appreciate that as I was able to set the room up with the gifts all over.
I do love how clean the hotel is. They have a great gym with high tech touch screen equipment. Upstairs is a restaurant where you can do some salsa dancing, eat food & drinks, or have a look at some great views. They have robots to deliver your food, Door Dash, or toiletries from downstairs. I came back here in May as well. The staff still remembered me and were AMAZING. Booking directly through the hotel gives you a credit to using a snack shop or at the Cafe during business hours.
I will say that the parking is expensive per night. But I do recommend, because it is a safer route for guests as the valet are the only ones that have access to the parking garages. Overall, the staff at this hotel, it goes above and beyond. To make sure that you have a great stay. They have excellent customer service and everyone is very welcoming and pleasant. I really wish I could live here lol
Thank you front desk staff Adam, Maria, Janet, Joy, Arwen Housekeeping-Ranjit and Managers Ricky & Russell for always making sure that I have a great stay and going above and beyond to help surprise my guest for...
Read moreMy husband & I flew out a day earlier than necessary to attend a wedding in San Jose so we could spend some time sightseeing in San Francisco. The hotel is roughly 1 block away from the Port of San Francisco on one side and the ball diamond and Chase Center on the other. Apart from that it is not really walkable for sightseeing. That was no big deal for us though, it was roughly a 15min Lyft from Fort Mason straight north and The Wharf more northwest. It is also just 1 mile from SFMOMA. Although we opted for a sushi place nevause of the ocean proximity and time constraints there is a famous restaurant on the roof that wad super busy the day/night (a Thursday) we were there. The hotel was just built around 1 year so it was high-tech, modern and lovely inside. There was a Bodega well stocked with conveniences and extravagant things. There was a ground level lobby and a lounge that contained a afe that operated as coffee bar fir half the day and wine bar for the other half. Luma has robots that can bring deliveries to your room. I had mobility issues at the time and particularly loved the zero-curb walk-in (eurostyle) shower; it was extremely spacious with niceties like a moveable bamboo bench, a shave bar, two shower head options, etc. The room had 2 walls of windows but also had blackout curtains-- the best of both worlds. The bed was extremely comfortable which is hard to do for me since I have spine problems. If I had to come up with some cons, it would probably be these things: the pillows were the "standard" aka 2 for each person and very flat; my husband thought the rubbery flooring in the main area was weird; and the automatic lighting took some fiddling to understand. All were minor complaints to us, especially since they did us a solid. Our flight arrived early enough to get us there 9a ish and although we had planned ahead to leave our bags with them and check in later, Luma was able to offer us a different room than we had booked right then, for a small fee. We felt the price, while higher than other places was worth it. In sum, we had an excellent experience...
