When it comes to delectable pastries, Sweet Glory in San Francisco has undoubtedly found the perfect recipe for success. My recent visit to this charming pastry spot left me with an enchanting experience, as I indulged in their exquisitely crafted Pandan Coconut and Passion Fruit Mille Crepe Cakes.
First and foremost, Sweet Glory takes great pride in using locally sourced ingredients, ensuring that each bite is a celebration of freshness and quality. The handcrafted 20-layer Crepe Cake is a testament to their dedication to perfection. The visually stunning layers, meticulously assembled, are a feast for the eyes before they even reach the palate.
My first choice, the Pandan Coconut Mille Crepe Cake, was a delightful fusion of flavors that transported me to tropical paradise. The combination of coconut meat sauce, pandan coconut custard, pandan coconut pastry cream, and pandan crepes created a symphony of textures and tastes. The fragrance of pandan and the creaminess of the coconut were expertly balanced, resulting in a heavenly dessert that left me craving for more.
Equally captivating was the Passion Fruit Mille Crepe Cake. This vibrant creation showcased the tangy and tropical notes of passion fruit, skillfully layered with passion fruit curd, passion fruit pastry cream, and passion fruit jam. The interplay of sweet and tart was simply divine, and the vanilla crepes added a subtle richness that tied everything together harmoniously.
What impressed me most about both crepe cakes was their impeccable execution. Each layer was flawlessly thin and delicate, yet sturdy enough to maintain its structure. The cakes were beautifully moist and luscious, allowing the flavors to unfold with each forkful. The attention to detail and the dedication to perfection were evident in every aspect of these creations.
The presentation at Sweet Glory is simply charming. The pastries are artfully displayed, showcasing their vibrant colors and inviting textures. The ambiance of the pastry spot is warm and cozy, providing a comfortable space to enjoy these delectable treats.

Read moreThis simplistic and cute dessert cafe opened up last year in the Tenderloin. If you are looking for some incredibly delicious Asian crepe cakes, this is the place to go. They have an assortment of cakes, pastries, and toast with the Asian dessert flavors we have all come to love (if not appreciate at the very least). To be totally honest with you, I prefer Sweet Glory's crepe cakes to Lady M, which is my go to whenever I am craving crepe cakes in LA or NYC.
When I first visited Sweet Glory, I ordered a slice of their Pandan Coconut Crepe Cake as well as their Taro, and Mango Crepe Cake to gift to my friend.
Their Pandan Coconut Crepe Cake was so delicious! The crepe cake was light and easy to cut through with a fork and paired really well with the creamy coconut sauce that came with it. The sauce is lightly sweet and contains slices of coconut meat. 10/10 would order again. For those of you who are not familiar with pandan, it is essentially a tropical Asian plant and has a very light grassy, vanilla and coconut taste.
The last time I went, I tried their Balsamic Strawberry Vanilla Mille Crepe Cake. I cannot rave enough about how much I love their crepe cakes. The crepe cakes are quite delicate and not too sweet. I love how they give you a little pitcher to drizzle sauce on top of some of their crepe cakes as well. I have not tried the other desserts they offer but will definitely get to them at some point.
The staff at Sweet Glory were super sweet and kept the remaining crepe cake slices chilled till I was ready to leave the cafe.
As you may see in other people's reviews about Sweet Glory, this dessert shop is located right in the Tenderloin. The Tenderloin is an interesting area rich with art and history but it is also important to note that it is a rougher part of SF. So, there is a high chance that you will see homeless people in this area. I recommend that if you are not familiar with the city that you take an Uber or have someone drop you off at this dessert cafe rather than to walk over.
I do want to recognize that the city has made efforts to make people feel safer touring the city through organizations like...
Read moreI found Sweet Glory through Facebook and was drawn here for their stuffed croissants but will be coming back over and over for their crepe cakes- 5/5 stars just for the crepe cake alone!! There were so many different flavors of crepe cake to try from Blueberry Cheesecake to Durian, it was so hard for me to choose one. They also had some chiffon cakes, banana bread, cookies, and super interesting drink combinations! If I hadn’t just come from a big lunch, I definitely would have tried two or three different crepe cakes.
If you’ve never had a slice of this ever so delicate cake, make Sweet Glory the first place you try one from. I’ve had a fair amount of crepe cakes in the last few years but their Durian Crepe cake was the softest, fluffiest, and tastiest one I’ve had by far. Now I know it might sound a bit overwhelming to flavor something so delicate with durian, but they sure do know how to balance flavors well here. The durian does not overpower the flavor of the crepe itself nor does it make it feel like you’re just eating straight durian. It is perfectly combined into each cream layer and doesnt add a ridiculous amount of sweetness either. We also tried the Pandan Coconut chiffon cake and Salted Egg Yolk filled Croissant! The cake itself was alright, a tad bit dry but flavored to perfection. The best part about this cake was the chunks of young coconut layered with the whipped cream!! So fresh and sweet, almost reminds me of Filipino Buko Pie. The croissant was lovely, usually I find salted egg yolk to be a bit too surprisingly salty, but this filling reminded me more of a pastry cream with a touch of salted egg yolk. it was the perfect compliment to the buttery croissant!
The funniest thing to me was the fact that we thought the durian crepe cake was limited edition or something because it was sequestered away under its own little cake cover in the display, but a few hours later it hit me and I realized they probably did that because not everyone enjoys the smell...
