The Devil's Acre — Restaurant in San Francisco

The latest from Future Bars Ltd. Unlike it's other offerings, there doesn't seem to be cohesive theme here. It almost feels like you are walking into an Soda Bar or Ice Cream bar from America's yesteryears. Or you kind of expect to see an old school pharmacist serving up Dr. Pepper. The Vinyl aprons seem to perpetuate this idea, but almost with a butcher shop feel. There is also a downstairs, which doesn't match the mood upstairs, more of a dungeon/cellar feel.

That being said the drinks are awesome! The Manhattan was exceptional, right up there with Rickhouse's Old Fashioned. The attention to detail in the presentation also deserves recognition, each drinking coming with a pearl looking tipped toothpick.

Bartenders were also very professional as you would expect from any of the Future Bars. I don't think it it tops Local Edition or Rickhouse as places to hangout, but the drinks are definitely in...

This place is a vibe for sure and then it wasn’t….

We walked in and sat at the bar and our exceptionally talented barkeep mixed up a marmalade skies, and blackberry mule. We were not disappointed!! The flavors are phonemail and really delicious!

Enter “night/mid shift” and start recommendations.

A few small things I’d recommend. Have staff comb the hair and wash their hands before handling fruits and making drinks. Would also appreciate the negativity about your personal problems, roommates, childhood friends, etc… to happen literally anywhere but in front of us while we are trying to unwind and enjoy each other’s company.

The Remedie room is by private event only and you can not just walk in. Staff is quick to accost you about it...

Was at Devil's Acre for a friend's birthday. My ID was expired and I forgot my paper copy. I showed a copy of my passport but the bouncer won't let me. It was just blind argument without any logic because he didn't even want to have a conversation and just kept saying I cannot let you know. The expired license doesn't change my age. I had to go all the way back home and come back with the paper copy to be let inside. More than just following a rule, it was really frustrating that the bouncer was just tone deaf and careless and apathetic. The drinks were good but for the time I had to wait and for how I was treated, I don't think I will go back. Not to mention, the same bouncer allowed some others in our group...
