I'm leaving an one-star review with a heavy heart, as I truly wanted to love this salon. I have tried to be a loyal customer, but my experiences have consistently been disappointing due to inconsistent nail quality and a recent, extremely frustrating customer service issue. Initially, I had a set of nails that were uneven, chipped, and left my fingers feeling burnt. The salon acknowledged this was not up to their standard and offered a $20 discount on my next visit, but this discount was never applied. Despite this, I decided to give them another chance, which was a mistake. The final straw occurred with a recent booking. On August 12th, I received a message requesting to change my upcoming appointment. I rearranged my schedule, including a trip, to accommodate their request. However, on the day of my original pedicure appointment, I was charged a $110 no-show fee. When I contacted the salon to understand the situation, they were incredibly rude and dismissive. They claimed the message to reschedule was from a different location and that I should have known this, stating "the messages came from different number, different locations, how you didn't notice? We are two different locations, we don't have access to the other location's agenda." This is a detail a client should not be expected to know. How I am supposed to know that the Union location was texting me reffering to a appointment that was "next" when my next appoitment was in the Pacific location? If you saw the types of message I received you would be shocked, even when I wrote that I was trying to communicate but started to feel unconfortabel, that I was not there to take the 110 dollars form the nail tech, I just wanted truelly to understand why I was recieving conflicted information from two different numbers. The conversation was handled poorly, and my attempts to explain were met with a complete lack of courtesy. While someone did call the next day to apologize for the receptionist's behavior, no action was taken to reverse the erroneous charge or offer any form of compensation. The $110 charge for an appointment they requested to be changed is inexcusable. In addition to these major issues, the overall atmosphere with the staff is lacking. The technicians often seem unhappy to be there, and the quality of the service feels like a gamble—you're left to pure luck to get a good nail tech. The poor communication and refusal to rectify their own mistake have made it clear that I cannot continue to be a customer. I hope this feedback helps others and encourages the salon to improve its internal communication and customer service protocols. Mind yourself, don't wast 110-150 dollars in a place that eventhough is beautiful and is supposed to care about you (their whole branding is anchored on how special you are supposed to fell there) and dismiss you and don't even provide quality service.

This place is a joke. You're paying for the decor and fancy aesthetic and free forms of water like just tiny bottled water and tea. Other items are for purchase. They allow you to book services by selecting the level of experience you want from the technician making you think you’re getting top service by shelling out more money. Total rip off and shady business practice. My pedicure with regular polish in which you only have a handful of color options to choose from that was $110! The Russian tech looked miserable and she did a miserable job. No need to say more, just look at the picture of the sloppy, careless work. My manicurist's first question to me was if I wanted thin coating of the gel polish. I said yes. Assuming she knew what she was doing I trusted I'd be happy with the results. NO! The gel is thick and when I asked if she could thin it out she just blamed my nails on being short. Another $110 down the drain. If you want to waste your time and money for sloppy work then go ahead. Also you can't even relax during this 2 hour process; there's non stop conversations happening between employees and customers. And only 3 employees out of I'd say 10 were Russian. 2 of the 3 were just the receptionists walking back and forth and the 1 did my pedicure. As I was checking out I told the receptionist that I wasn’t happy and she then said as well that my nails are too short. She proceeded to charge each service separately expecting a tip. Left with a headache and total waste of time and money. Later the manager texts me to apologize that I wasn’t happy and to provide more feedback so they can improve their crappy service rather than trying to make things right. Scam artist nail salon. *****1 week later I find out from my doctor that I have athletes foot since being at this salon!!! Disgusting place!!!

I’ve been going to Zorina for almost a year now (Feb 2024) and I cannot say enough good things about them. Their work is impeccable with the most pristine cuticle work and attention to detail applying hard gel and gel polish (based on manicure or pedicure). I get my mani-pedi done every 4 to 5 weeks and I’ve NEVER had any issues with my nails lifting, peeling, getting stuck in my hair or any of those annoying things that we’ve all experienced at other places. I don’t think I will ever go anywhere else. I live in Santa Cruz and I drive all the way to San Francisco because that’s how good they are. Their staff is super friendly and they always make you feel welcomed. I wish I had pictures of fresh pedicures because they are perfection! People literally don’t believe me when I show them my nails 5 weeks in! If you’ve been thinking about getting a Russian mani-pedi this is your sign to RUN to Zorina! Manicures on these pics are from Wi and Esther at the Pacific location, and my pedicures are by Deana.

I have mixed feelings on this place. I really love the aesthetic and cleanliness of the space. The receptionist was very kind and I appreciated being fit in same day for a manicure. This was my first Russian manicure but I’ve had builder gel before. My nail tech was fairly nice however she hurt my several times while doing cuticle care (I was absolutely still). Several of my fingers are a sore under the cuticle today, and whilst she was using the scissors and the smallest bit, she drew blood a couple times. The only time she commented on it was to to say my nail was dry. I felt it was odd that like four fingers were hurt. I really appreciated the precision of the gel and polish application and the manicure is beautiful. I also was a bit annoyed that the tech would get frustrated with me about how my hand was held without telling me I needed to do something different. I am a people pleaser and conflict averse but I wish she would have said “please shift forward” before getting fed up and snapping “give me your hand” (I think I was maybe sitting a little far back?). All in all, I would return however I would suggest maybe not seeing a junior tech as the manicure was painful and from my research it is not supposed to be. For the prices charged, I should not be wincing or having blood drawn multiple times. In fact, this morning where she drew blood on my thumb is beyond sore- it’s still bleeding slightly and projecting clear fluid. This is the only finger that was damaged that bad but again- shouldn’t have been damaged at all. The music is nice and the color selection was great too.

UPDATE: the manager reached out to get more details and work with me for a solution. Next time I am in town I will certainly come back for another experience and second chance :) the manager was very kind and understanding which is great...
