Ordered from Anchors via DoorDash a few times. Decided to walk down to San Pedro Square one rainy night to dine there even though delivery has never been soggy or cold. I don't know why I was expecting a sit-down restaurant but It's actually a kiosk similar to the other eateries inside San Pedro Market. It's located towards the entrance. You pay first and wait for your order. The food comes out hot, fresh and fast. They do have a six seat bar in front of where they cook separated by glass. It not super spacious but its practical and comfortable. It reminded me of Tokyo, even though I've never been to Japan. LOL It's a casual & fun spot eat with someone. We have ordered their Fish & Chips Misto a few times. That one comes with fish, huge scallops, prawns and oysters. The portions are very good for the price. Their Oyster and Chips is my personal favorite. The crab bread is delicious. The fries are soooooo good! Not greasy at all. I plan to try their other seafood dishes...
Read moreTo preface this, I’m a little bit of a snob when it comes to crab/lobster. Overall, I was happy with this option at a food court style marketplace. I ended up going for the crab fries, which overall were very good. If anything, I found their to not be enough crab. Based on the price, though, there was a reasonable amount of crab. I really liked that the fries had cheese on them, if anything, they had too much sauce. I paired it with a beer from one of the bars nearby, but forgot to take a picture. I would recommend going to this location with friends as there are many options for...
Read moreAnchors Fish and Chips may not seem particularly special at first glance, but it has a magnetic pull that keeps drawing me back whenever I'm in San Jose.
My favorite dish here is the Lobster Roll, and I think it's perfect. Some might say there's too much mayo, but I believe that's what makes it so juicy. There's still a generous portion of lobster and a fantastic brioche bun, so don't worry about any unusual ingredients.
The interior isn't much to speak of since the place is in a food court. However, the food court itself is quite lovely. You can find a great selection of beer at neighboring kiosks and relax in the outdoor area, sometimes even with live music.
Absolutely worth a visit if you happen...
