Update Again: The hot water is out, again. With no real notifications or updates. Update: I am absolutely appalled. I lowered my rating from 3 starts to 1. There has not been water in the building for days. And they have informed residents to reach out to their insurance company to be reimbursed for any expenses during this time. They could EASILY offer credits or something towards everyone’s account. Something is always broken. There is plastic everywhere from the flood that happened in September. I’m not sure if the views and access to downtown is worth it—-especially considering how high the rent is. I know most people tend to only post when something is wrong, but this is pretty bad.
Pros: Really good location. Easy access to transportation. Near activities. Can get to the airport in no time. Lovely view. The concierge lady that works during the week is so nice!! She greets my dog and is so helpful. And one of the other leasing agents, Black girl with a fro, is nice too!! I like how secure the building is. Cons: Elevators are always down. I’ve seen all 3 working for maybe 2 days. But you can bet there is always a down elevator . My floor smells like all animals decided to meet and use the bathroom. It’s not a great smell to hit you as you come off the elevator. And once the floors flooded it has only gotten worse. If they would remove the carpet then it would be much better!! Before the boiler went out my water would swap between hot and cold while showering. So I guess the positive is that I have consistent hot water. When all of the flooding happened I was out of town and could not get in touch with anyone in the building. I was able to make contact the day before I came back in town. The dog area smells horrrible. I’m grateful my unit is not on that side because I can only imagine the smell traveling up to the unit. People allow their dogs to go and they don’t clean up. I feel bad for whomever goes out and cleans it for the entire building. Oddly, there is a camera, but it doesn’t stop anyone. Finally, I really hate the utility set up. Everything , rent and utilities, are due on the first. There is some service they’ve partnered with that’s supposed to make life easier but it has def thrown my budget for a major loop. And the utilities are high for a one bedroom apartment. For the location, it works. But I’m not sure if I will renew once...
Read moreI moved into Centerra in early 2023 and it has been a fantastic experience. From the lobby to the amenities, lounges and pools, the building has a luxurious feel to it. It has great proximity to all the great places in Downtown San Jose / SAP center. The maintenance staff is top notch and friendly, and comes around promptly to resolve any issues. The concierge (Jose and Matt in particular) are always available, helpful and friendly. The apartments themselves are really well laid out and spacious. The window soundproofing is really good so you can’t hear the highway traffic / airport noise, even though both are super close.
This is the best place I have lived by far.
The only con: elevators can be a little slow, but in the grand scheme of things, I will 12/10 chose to live here again.
I want to call out one person in particular: Aria has been truly one of the best parts of living here. When looking for apartments, I came in without an appointment and was in somewhat of a last minute situation since another lease agreement had just fallen through and I did not have a place to move in to. Aria was incredibly kind and gracious. He made time for me, heard out my requirements and promptly narrowed down the available apartments and showed me around the building. He was professional and friendly, efficient and thorough. From figuring out how to get the apartment ready as soon as possible to handing over the keys and arranging parking, Aria was on top of all of it. He took to the time to go over all of leasing documentation with me and was patient in answering all of my questions. He made what is an otherwise tedious and frustrating experience a breeze.
Aria takes care to remember the building residents and is courteous and friendly on every encounter. He always checks in to make sure everything is okay. Any time I have needed help (adding parking, reserving a lounge, picking up a package), he has made sure to help me out with minimal friction. I always have the confidence that if I approach him with any issue, it will be resolved quickly.
He clearly takes pride in his work, is incredible at it, and it is always such a joy to...
Read moreI’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with the apartment management team here, and feel compelled to leave this review to warn others. The entire experience has been chaotic and unprofessional.
Parking Problems There is no guest parking, and my assigned parking spot has been consistently taken by a former resident who no longer lives here. Despite raising this concern multiple times, management has done nothing to resolve the issue, leaving me without a parking space.
The situation became even worse when I had to temporarily park against wall while moving birthday items with the help of friends. My car was towed, yet the unauthorized vehicle in my assigned spot was not towed. When I reached out to management, I was met with a rude and dismissive response. One staff member told me, "People don’t have time to call you" and also said, "You should have known that you should park in your spot." This behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable.
Maintenance Issues When I first moved in, I had a toilet leak that soaked the bathroom carpet. Despite contacting maintenance immediately, the technician did nothing to fix it, stating that maintenance workers don’t get paid on weekends and would return on Monday to clean and dry the carpet. This was completely unacceptable, especially since the leak was damaging the apartment.
Poor Communication & Accountability Perhaps the most frustrating part has been the lack of accountability and poor communication. I was repeatedly told by management that a parking spot would be available “next month,” but when I followed up a month later, I received the exact same response. This back-and-forth with no real resolution is completely frustrating and feels like I’m being ignored.
Overall, the management team here has been unresponsive and unprofessional. As a resident, I expect better service, especially when it comes to basic issues like parking and maintenance. I would strongly advise against renting here due to the poor management.
