El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in San Jose

Had the worst experience Thursday Night. We came in with my family around 745pm and half of the dinning room was already closed and let me remind you they close at 9! We still went in and had an awful order taker, she seemed very exhausted and sick of being there, cook was upset We came in and one other person yelled out We don't have any more breast and we aren't making anymore! And it was not even 8pm. My reaction was to the cashier is he in a bad mood !? Everyone just stared at me. Worst customer service experience ever never ever coming back first time and never again. When the food came out food was bland, cold, and very badly presented. I couldn't believe my eyes and we had just spent $44 to eat out. What a mistake. As we were eating the girl that was cleaning the dinning room and bathrooms was dragging herself with the worst attitude in the world just walking around us waiting for us to get up clean her table and put the chairs up. This place was an absolute mess. I wish I could take it all back and never walked in there. I don't recommended...

Went 1 night thru drive thru and when we got home they failed to give us an item @ $6.78. So I immediately called and spoke to the manager. He asked if we could return, but I live far and pass thru there occasionally so I said no. He didn't offer to credit me instead he said to circle the item and put his name on the receipt and when I am there again they would make things right. Well I ended up going again but the workers were rude and said he was not there and didn't know who I was. I think some of the problem was they didn't understand what I was telling them even in person at the window. I think I was supposed to speak in Spanish because they had no clue to the English I was speaking. The lady just turned her back to us and sighed out loud. I think they should be better trained to be better at...

What can I say? The food is excellent, and I've never had any bad service.

I haven’t been going to EPL for too long, but I was first won over by their remarkable salad. Oh, my gosh! It's the dressing! Whatever it is, is ABSOLUTELY perfect. I don't need a lot, but my mother liked her salad coated--but one serving portion (in the plastic cups) was perfect for both of us. And we enjoyed the salads so much, it took us a while to try other dishes. But I've since tried their chicken (this is SO good; I don't like fried chicken, so their rotisseried version is scrumptious), tamales, and various side dishes. I haven't tried anything that I've disliked. Even their Christmas hot chocolate was good!
