Erik's DeliCafé — Restaurant in San Jose

If you have FOOD ALLERGIES then avoid this Erik's. They do not take food allergies seriously there!

I was going in every single day for a while ordering the same thing, and one day I decided to have a something different. I clearly stated what I was allergic to more than once. He repeated it more than once. Then the food was made with the allergen. I pointed it out and they simply removed it leaving the cross-contamination all over the rest of my food. I asked for my money back and left and will not return.

At first it upset me of course but then I just look at it as when one door closes another one opens. So now I found a new place to eat right across the street.

Other than that Erik's was great! But I can't take a chance on being poisoned. The new place takes my health...

Waist of money. Came in 15 min before and asked if they had time to make one more out of respect knowing they wanted to close up. They said yes. So i ordered a chicken pesto no tomato. It was done in under one min. The sandwich was thrown so fast and sloppy it all the ingredients were falling out and it was soggy? How was a fresh made sandwich soggy? Not to mention there was tomatoes on it. I asked for no tomatoe. I would not be surprised of this was just sitting there already made then given to me. It was done to fast. The closing crew gives this place a bad name. I didn't come and spend 10$ for this.¤ I will be reluctant to come to this deli again. My advise don't come...

I have been going to Eric's for over 30 years. It's part of my history, having grown up in the San Jose area. So it breaks my heart to say this…

The family that purchased the franchise for this Eric's deli Café is a nice one. They are pretty cool people. And they are prompt and they work hard, but they do not keep a clean shop. It's filthy.

I don't live in San Jose anymore, but I stopped in because I miss Erik so much, and I don't think I'm coming back. They really need to clean this place up.

Also, I got a sandwich a drink and a bag of chips and it came to over $16. Perhaps that's just the cost of a sandwich in California, but...
