11/3/24..Lengthy, but worth the read. I have been a customer of this business for years. Have been in several water plans. Plans are tiered. The higher cost of the plan, the less expensive per gallon of water. There are NO contracts or rules. When you buy a plan, your name and address are put on a 3x5 index card with the number of gallons you have purchased. When you come in for refill, the number of gallons you refill are deducted from the balance on your account/card. You sign and date the card. I have been inactive in the store for several years. My best guess would be last visit in '16, '17, '18. I have a receipt for $50. cash, dated 6/10/16, which I suspect was for buying a plan or reloading what I had. There may be additional credit card debits after this but that is being researched. My mother had been ill for several months and I was commuting between San Jose & Sonoma regularly, sometimes staying for weeks with her. My mother eventually passed away from colon cancer and a heart attack. Then Covid hit and since I was considered "high risk", avoided public places. I knew I still had money on account at this business but since I had always had an amicable relationship with the owners, John & Leilani Chadwick, believed my account would just remain inactive until I advised otherwise. There had been NO attempt to reach me by phone or mail. (They claim they don't take phone numbers but I don't remember anything like that.) I have lived in my home over 40 years and have had the same phone number. Today I was able to go into the business to close out my account. I was told by the owner, John Chadwick, that my 3x5 card had been thrown away due to inactivity. He remembered who I was and apparently had some type of ledger with my name in it. I asked him where the termination rules were posted. There are none. Had I known of any rules, I would have taken action sooner. What if I had passed away? Does this business NOT try to attempt contact with the owner of the account before they JUST POCKET YOUR MONEY? Seems very unprofessional and unethical to me. **Before you enter into any agreement with these people, make sure you understand what you are getting into. They seem to change/add/delete rules at their own whim. I'm a senior on a fixed income. Suspect I'm out about $40., maybe a little more. If you do enter into a water plan, make sure you make a copy of the 3x5 index card they have on you. Smiling faces for sure. You're the greatest customer in the world until...
Read moreCame for the water, stayed for the people. Leilani, John, and Carmen are so great to talk to and the Aloha they bring.
You can buy the water by the gallon, bring your own bottle. Or, sign up for a 100 or 200 gallon account. They know their regulars by name as you walk in.
They also offer a variety of drinks and cold items. The shave ice is classic and you can add the Hawaiian style with red beans and condensed milk if you'd like. But, I am very partial to their Halo-Halo, a Filipino dessert/merienda. It has all the jellies, beans, Ube halaya, and ice...
Read moreI've been coming here for years. Had one of those "shower thoughts"/"dishwashing thoughts." They've helped me sustain my family and I with clean drinking water. We don't have a water softner, and depend on Aloha Pure Water for our needs. I'm filling up anywhere from 20-40 gallons at a time. Knowing their Aloha time schedule, I built my routine of water fill ups around it. I appreciate John and Leilani. Always a pleasure to be there in the shop. The spirit of Aloha is indeed here...
