Ike's Love & Sandwiches — Restaurant in San Jose

I placed an order hear on Doordash an hour ahead of when I was picking up. When I get there they tell me oder wasn't ready yet. I placed it an hour back so I was a little confused. I go up and ask every 10 minutes but they keep telling me it wasn't ready. In the fourth time I mention how I placed the order an hour and a half ago so she looks through the order history. She heads back and finds my order receipt in the trash. Turns out a separate staff member threw away my order receipt because she thought it was already made. They make my sandwich and offer me a bag of chips. After nearly 2 hours of waiting I finally get my sandwich.

Update a few months later. I decided to order again from this location on door dash. I got the jaymee sirewhich which was one of my favorites. Although this time I think the chicken may have been under cooked because I have been experiencing some food poisoning. And there's no way it could have been from anything else since that was the only thing I ate that day. I would recommend staying away from...

I love Ike's and hate to leave them a bad review, but I'm feeling distressed from my experience this afternoon.

The person in front of me made a big order, so when it was my turn, I asked whether they could make my sandwich in 10 minutes. 'We'll do it as quickly as possible,' they said, and I said 'Okay, but I have a train to catch, so I really need it in 10 minutes, and I know you just got a big order—can you do it?' and they said yes. So I ordered and paid.

Ten minutes later, I had to leave with no sandwich. And I had to run to the station, and just barely made my train. I like to think that maybe one of the homeless people out front ended up enjoying it, but it probably just got wasted, along with my money, which in itself is very disappointing.

People might not realise how extraordinarily infrequent trains are in this country—if I hadn't made this, I would've had to wait over an hours for the next one!!—but if I say I need it in 10 minutes, I'm not making it up! I expect an honest answer, not just a 'yes' to get...
