Experienced VERY Poor Customer Service! I ordered two burritos; one for me and one for my daughter. I am absolutely positive I had ordered myself a Chile Relleno burrito and when I went to pick up my order, I noticed their receipt said Chile Verde. My receipt does not say what kinds of burritos were ordered so I couldn't correct it before they started making the burritos. I let Azucena know I had ordered the Chile Relleno and she responded with, " no you didn't, your wrong! (not kidding, those very same words)You ordered Chile Verde!" I politely let her know Im positive I didn't because I'm a vegetarian (Lacto-ovo-vegetarian to be exact). She than said, "too bad, you need to eat the chile verde or order another burrito." I responded back saying I should not be expected to eat something I didn't order and I requested to have my burrito redone. She continued to argue no and I again reiterated I would not be eating it. I emphasized I did not mind paying the cost difference if there was one but I did not feel like I should pay for a whole other burrito, especially one that wouldn't be eaten. After going back and forth, she finally rudely snatched the burrito and had it redone. When I got the"right" order, I noticed the burrito was a regular instead of the super that I ordered. On top of that, I also realized I paid more than what a super chile relleno would have cost me. At that point, it just wasn't worth the fight. La Vics, you lost my business because of Azucena. Shame on...
Read moreLa Vics is living proof that if you stay open late enough, people will eat anything. San Jose is supposed to be known for its legendary burritos, but La Vics seems determined to ruin that reputation, one soggy tortilla at a time. The real tragedy here is the orange sauce. I don’t know what it used to taste like back in its glory days, but now it’s more like a watered-down regret with a side of blandness. I squeezed it on my burrito hoping for that famous kick, but all I got was the sensation of lukewarm disappointment.
Let’s be real—La Vics isn’t open late because it’s good; it’s open late because it’s the only thing open. It’s like the last slice of stale pizza at a party: you don’t want it, but you’re starving and there are no other options. I’m convinced they keep the lights on at 2 AM because if they had to compete during daylight hours, any taqueria with a functioning stove would take them out.
If you want to experience a real burrito, literally anywhere else in San Jose will do. But if you want to pay for the illusion of nostalgia and the reality of regret, La Vics is waiting for you, with its tired tortillas and famous-for-no-reason...
Read moreI wish it was more laid back and relaxed in there. For the time that I go, which is around 10pm, the place can get pretty packed. They normally have 2 workers up in the front. I guess it's 4 stars for now unless the service gets a bit better. The food and orange sauce is boooomb!! But the overall feel of the place and the workers just makes it 1 star less for me. I guess the atmosphere feels a bit colder.... as if they just want me to hurry and buy.. grab and go. I hate having to ask for sauce , or forks, or a cup for the water because as I stated, around the time I go, it gets super busy and having to ask for necessities when it is busy can be a bit tricky when I just want to sit down and eat right away. The price is fair for the size, so maybe that compensates for the lack of service or the atmosphere. Their best meat to try is the asada. Hopefully they give customers the option to pay for extra rice , meat, beans and so on ..The place is clean and it's a must try for a good...
