So glad to see more Asian restaurants opening in/near San Pedro! I’ve had the Campbell location of Hinodeya on my list to visit for a while now so was pleasantly surprised when I found out a location opened even closer to me! The decor and aesthetic are spot on, the dining area has ample space, and the drinks menu is 👌🏽👌🏽 Any restaurant that offers Japanese craft beer automatically gets one (maybe even two) stars just because of that. I love that they offer sake flights and, as someone who is trying to get into sake more, that they had a good variety of options. There are QR codes at every table which allow you to order and pay using your phone which means you really only interact with the staff when they bring your food and drink items. My partner and I ordered the $14 sake flight, karaage, takoyaki, and Tori Paitan all to share, and our bill was just over $60 including tip. The staff were very friendly when they did come by and one of them even brought us an extra bowl for the ramen without us even asking! Unfortunately, the food left much to be desired - the batter on the karaage was too thick (obviously that’s a very personal preference), the takoyaki was not crispy on the outside and the filling to tako ratio was way off, and the Tori Paitan was all around bland. For the moment I’m going to chalk it up to new opening tingz and I do plan on going back to try at least one of their...

We tried the downtown Hinodeya on Friday night at 5:30 pm. We walked in and were seated right away as they only had a few tables occupied. When you arrive, they bring you water right away and then the ordering is done on your phone. You do not place an order with a server. They tend to leave you alone so if you had any questions you better ask while the water is brought to you. Once you've scanned the QR (so over QR menus btw) & placed your order, the food comes pretty fast. Once you've gotten your food, you don't really see the waiters much anymore. You've gotten your food and you have paid so what more do you need? We had to flag someone down to get containers and a bag for the leftovers. Aside from the no contact ordering, the food is very good and tastes fresh. The servings are plentiful and we all enjoyed everything very much. The clam ramen is fabulous! They give you sooooo many clams! We had never had that before, nor thought of the combo...delish! My one complaint is the seating. I have a really difficult time with hard chairs and they are straight wood. I guess I'm thankful they aren't metal at least. :) We already loved the Campbell location so I'm glad this is...

This place uses QR code/order on your phone method. Pretty easy to do, but they don’t really tell you about it, you kinda just gotta realize it yourself. The food choices are good, not too much not too little, I got the miso butter corn ramen. There’s an option to get less oil which I love. Chashu is so tasty and not too fatty. I wish I paid for extra chashu. Broth is good, adding some spice definitely increases flavors. I’m disappointed in the thick noodles, I prefer thin, but there’s no choice they only have one type. A little chewier than I’d like, but not terrible.

The sparking yuzu drink is sooooo refreshing. Great choice if you don’t want alcohol or tea. It’s such a good side with hot noodles.

I recommend this place, parking can be scarce and the restaurant is smaaaall, don’t have big groups or you’ll be waiting awhile. This place was full by 12pm and they opened at 11am. Price wise it’s not cheap. So be prepared to shell out minimum $25 after...
