MERRY CHRISTMAS 2024! Wednesday 12. 25. 2024 10:45 a.m. PST
LAS CAZUELAS RESTAURANT Address: 55 Race Street, San Jose, CA - just off The Alameda, is my go to Mexican restaurant when I am in San Jose, CA.
Las Cazuelas Order Taker:
GRACIELA C. Graciela was extremely professional, courteous, and made really good suggestions for me. She is an amazing asset for Las Cazuelas - especially at the front counter where customers are putting in their orders.
There were also two other young women, who brought the food to my table and made sure I had enough salsa. They were also very professional, courteous, and enhanced my eating experience

Check 21: Tuesday 12:24. 24 11: 26 a.m. .
This amazing specialty plate order, which has the picture attached to this Google Maps Review. It was 5 STAR BRILLIANT!
My overflowing table had: fajitas - steak with shrimp (to have shrimp it has an added cost). Plus, I got a cylinder that contained three flour tortillas - I could have chosen corn, but the server suggested that I choose flour. It definitely was a great choice!
There was also a separate plate with refried beans and sour cream. What more could I ask for! Finally, I was served a delicious salsa for the chips.
My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. I had to take a doggy bag home. I don't have a dog!!
Check #22: This was a takeout order and it was a super steak burrito. I was supposed to give this to a friend - UNFORTUNATELY - I was still so hungry that when I got home, I ended up eating this steak burrito. Oh well! I'll get my friend socks.
I was crazy hungry when I got to Las Cazuelas in San Jose california. I live in San Francisco now and on Tuesdays I have to move my car, so I don't get a street cleaning ticket.
For some reason I decided to drive all the way down to San Jose and let my car engine run a bit, as it sits around most of the time.
I lived in San Jose between 1980 and 1986. I lived just about five or six blocks from Las Cazuelas. I can't tell you just how many wonderful meals, burritos, tacos, and other Mexican specialty foods that I really enjoyed eating at Las Cazuelas Restaurant.
Before I end this review, I plan on going back to Las Cazuelas, so I can experience their Sunday "ALL YOU CAN EAT BRUNCH." Sounds amazing!
PLEASE don't quote me on the price of LAS CAZUELAS SUNDAY BRUNCH, as I was leaving one of the servers told me about the brunch. $28.00 or $29.00. I THINK!
I appreciate the time you spent reading this review. I hope you get a chance to go and eat at this great Mexican restaurant on Race Street in San Jose California Las...
Read moreI have never posted on Yelp review or a review anywhere, but my experience here was terrible. Food was good for the most part, but nothing special that I would go back for. The place look better in their patio area. The Inside was just a typical taqueria looking spot. We went to their Sunday brunch buffet, and their service was absolutely terrible. First, they weren't ready at 10 am. So we were told to wait. Waiting wasn't the issue because we're human and sometimes were running behind, right? I get that! But it was the way the rude manager was speaking to us when we weren't even giving her any grief about it. She then told us we shouldn't be mad at her, but when we were trying to explain to her that it was the way she was speaking to us, she brushed it off with a "ok ok" your table is ready. Lol, really lady? no customer awareness. 3 other customers had left right away after they were greeted with the same rude attitude as us. Walked in, walked out. Our waitress was just as rude. Non attentive to us at all. We saw her once after she initially took our order, but even then, we were met with attitude while ordering. The young lady that bussing all the tables was the one we had to ask for things. We had to wait forever for our check after we asked for it. But when the "Waitress" (I use that word loosely) brought the check to us, all of a sudden, she tried being super polite. Lol naww girl, Too late! My girlfriend was also yelled at for grabbing one of the spoons, not knowing the buffet was not self served. My mother's drink was wrong, and we waited for a long time for the correct one. You are prolly wondering why we stayed? Well, it was my mom's birthday, and she had been wanting to try this place because it was on damn tic tok lol SMH, and we wanted to make her day a good one. my guess was the manager was being a jerk to her staff in the morning and it trickled to her staff and messed up everyone's attitude, but from reading some of these other reviews, this is not new treatment and it seems the manager or owner whoever she is, well she's probably the root of the problem. P.S. Not all the staff was bad, just a...
Read moreI passed by this place several times before deciding to give it a try today, and I don't regret it. The main attraction of this place is its patio and outdoor tables, while the inside is small and not very appealing. So, if you don't like to eat outside or it's a cold and windy day, it's better to avoid this place because it will ruin your experience.
The staff, mostly female, is very attentive and friendly. They welcome you with a basket of tortilla chips and salsa, and you can enjoy their buffet on Sundays. Although I wasn't hungry enough to take advantage of the buffet, I saw it, and it looked and smelled delicious. I would come back to try it. Bonus point: they make the tortillas by hand right in front of you.
They offer an extensive menu at very affordable prices. However, for some reason, I decided to try their breakfast burrito and was pleasantly surprised. It had a manageable size and was filling at the same time. Every bite was a delicious blend of all the ingredients. I asked for hot sauce, and they served me their delicious homemade sauces (green and red). I highly recommend the green sauce, made of raw tomatillo (common in Mexico). In summary, you should try it. It's a solid...
