Mark's Hot Dogs — Restaurant in San Jose

I've been coming to Mark's since back when the Big Orange Hot Dog Stand was at it's original location on Alum Rock. I even continued to frequent Mark's years later when they moved to their current location on Capital Ave and even their short lived second location inside the Eastridge Mall Food Court. Throughout the years their business hours have fluctuated (as well as their car hop attendants) but the quality of their hot dogs have always stayed the same! The problem is though, as I stated in the past their business hours would change from Season to Season (Summer Hours might be extended an hour or two as well as Fall/Winter/Spring Hours might be reduced by an hour or two). However the past year or two they haven't been consistent with their business hours! Over the past Summer on at least 3 separate occasions I attempted to go to Mark's and found they were closed, even though their business hours on Google state they are open until 8pm! We're talking 45 mins before 8pm and even once as early as 6pm!!! I'm sorry but this is no way to run a business, if your hours have changed you need to change it online as well. I love their hot dogs, but it's extremely disappointing to drive all the way over just to find that they have closed 2+ hours early! Customer service has gone down hill, where is their level of professionalism? Sadly I'm done with Mark's and it's a shame because they used to be my favorite place to go for hot dogs in...

Been going to Mark's Hotdogs for years, even when it was at it's original location. Recently it's been disappointing. Glad fries were added to the menu. But if you want any, it seems you got to go early! I understand if you run out of a item, but to stop making an item an hour before you close, is not cool! Maybe if not already, put that on the menu for 1st timers. 1st time, we were okay with it with not knowing, 2nd time, we got there at 7:03 & we were supposedly too late. 3rd time (on a Friday evening when closing is at 9pm) after a long day & evening, we get there at 7 & you guys stopped already!!! Really? I'm not saying I will stop going just because of this, but its possibly in the near future...losing patience.

Update:took away another star. went to Mark's hotdogs today, after daughters softball game. Around 6:30pm. Just to find it closed. They seem to have changed their hours!...

Best hotdogs place around but to be honest, not alot of great hotdogs places in the Silicon Valley, and if you know any other places please respond back with some names. 4 star because I paid $12 for 2 hotdogs 🌭 🌭 and I can't see myself doing that again. Not the best hotdogs I've had. Costco and the stands in front of home depots can be better than these expensive dogs. But 4 star by default and great atmosphere they setup for customers wanting to eat in car. They come out to you and take your order. Customer service was good. No problems in that area. Great spot to take your kids for the experience. Come New Yorkers, where are those great hotdogs places in or around San Jose, an willing to make a road trip out of it. Food connoisseur here! Got a regular dog with everything and a cheese dog. Saving the cheese dog for later......
