The Caravan Lounge — Restaurant in San Jose

Very disappointed with my experience. I visited last night to support some local bands and friends who were performing. The drinks were mediocre—I ordered a Long Island and a tequila lime soda, both of which were made incorrectly and tasted watered down. After the performances, a few friends and I stepped outside for some air. There were multiple groups gathered outside, not just ours. At one point, we noticed another group—whom we did not know—taking Jell-O shots. While my group was simply standing in a circle talking, a bouncer suddenly approached us, yelling and accusing us of taking Jell-O shots. He told us we were being disrespectful to the bar and that we were no longer allowed back inside. I explained that none of us had taken any Jell-O shots and even showed him to prove it. He responded that he didn’t care and reiterated that we were banned from re-entering. You’re seriously going to kick out a group of 20 people who came to support your venue and brought in significant business—for something we didn’t even do? That’s absolutely unprofessional. Businesses should remember that their customers are the reason they stay open. This situation was incredibly frustrating because we were doing nothing wrong—just standing outside and following the rules. Overall: I do not recommend this place. I like this place. Always nice to escape. Hidden right behind/next to (whatever you'd like to call it) Monterey Rd/Hwy. It's a get away with out the get away. Love the view of Hayes Mansion, lots of history for sure. Parking lot does get full when they have an event cool part is there is underground parking as well. Something different. Rarely happens so don't get to excited. So over the years more and more people tend to go hang out there in the parking lot Which is cool. minus the litter that's left behind like come on REALLY. I'm not Karen so i wont be one of those people. Just kills me seeing people be like that as if they can't throw their own trash away. Other then that. park is pretty nice y'all. I recommend checking this one out for sure. Any dAy of the week. Oh yeah if y'all play bball or tennis even volley ball(in the sand) bring it. Courts are decent and people are friendly. Enjoy. well, thanks to last night I now know that "moshing" (in this case, joustingly elbowing my husband and his best friend who are twice my size- I'm 5'1, 104 lbs) is apparently not allowed at the Caravan Lounge and will get you promptly removed without any explanation as to why. I guess going there a couple or so times a year for a few years isn't enough to instill this jeweled knowledge. what happened to having signs? even if I wasn't already deaf, I don't think it's exactly broadcast every few minutes. I felt so disrespected last night it isn't even funny. the idiot who pulled me out wouldn't even explain to me why, I had to get the information from people in the back parking lot. of all the venues I've been to, the only time I've ever even heard of anyone getting removed for moshing was when someone actually got bloodied up. has this place always been this lame, or did it just take me that long...
