I loved the IMAX Dome theater at the Tech Interactive. I used to come here as a kid before they had the Dome, and I'm grateful this amazing technology exists. It reminds me a little of the 3D experience that Great America had in the nineties. You feel like you're almost in the movie being played or about to fall in.
The sound is crisp, clear, and great for anyone who's hard of hearing but not yet deaf. I think they have subtitles if you can't hear at all. I can't hear well, but I could hear Jane Goodall's documentary so well in the IMAX Dome.
The level of sound was too loud for my three year old nephew, though. He did not enjoy it and kept placing his hands over his ears. So, if you're bringing children who have great hearing, maybe bring headphones for them or anything to cover their ears that will subdue the sound.

A good idea but very poorly implemented. There is very little legroom in the seats - if you’re over around 6ft then your shins will be touching the back of the seat in front. The seats are also bolt upright, which is an incredibly poor design given you have to look up constantly to see the screen. You constantly have to crane your neck upwards. Go and sit on a dining chair and imagine a film is playing on the ceiling. This also means that sitting in the front 1/3 of the theatre is literally pointless.
