Great location, good taste and very good vibe. The Wait staff and bar are great people plus were very welcoming. With covid19 they have great protocols and very attentive to making sure you don't have any symptom. The price is not the cheapest for the food service but great vibes. The only thing that made me leave this one star was the food poisoning. For some reason the food handling in the venue is not the best and either we had some of our food crossed contaminated or there was an item in common we all ate which didn't sit right. We got home and we spend most of the afternoon in the bathroom and had to cut our day short. We didn't have anything else to eat anywhere else and didn't even have breakfast waiting to eat at old San Juan. The location never had been this bad in food handling before and I eat pretty much everything. I have traveled to many places across the world and now in my native land while working on a video project, we decided to eat at el patio de sam because the other places were beyond packed and we were avoiding big crowds. My elderly mother just recently moved to orlando with us and only has been 5 months since she moved. Yet she knows how to spot bad locations and cuisine just because of her 70 plus years living in the island. Not only we could have gotten really sick but we could have landed in a hospital. During this pandemic a hospital ER lobby is not what I want to see. I m sorry but the food handling in this location is not the best and I would avoid it at all cost. Research and go to any other place for traditional cuisine. Defiantly don't go for the shrimp mofongo and or any mofongo. STAY AWAY! Great service but paying 116.66 dollars with tip was not worth the hours lost in the bathroom. We even tipped another 10.00 dollars to the waiter to bring it 26.00 tip but we regret even deciding to go support this location. I was going to do a food blog on my Puertorrican culture and news page but decided to not do it as I was not going to be kind about it. The location needs to be very careful with cross contamination and should retrain the kitchen staff to capture this issues. If they are not following the basics in food handling ? Do not expect them to be following any other guidelines in the kitchen areas. I would do a total wipe down and hose down all the surfaces.

Read moreIt's a year later, and I still can't get over what a genuinely terrible restaurant this is. Indeed, it might be the worst restaurant I've ever eaten in.
What's more, the fact that this disgusting, filthy, overpriced rip-off joint has a four-star average, based on a series of semi-anonymous, wordless, five-star - and obviously inauthentic - reviews is testament to how thoroughly enshittified Google Maps' reviews are.
We waited an eternity under glaring, flickering lights for overpriced, inedible briquettes and "cocktails" that had zero rum in them (honestly, how much of a clip joint do you need to be running in Puerto Rico to serve rum drinks and leave out the actual rum?!). Then we paid a small fortune for them.
This is a garbage, rip-off restaurant. It served me the only bad meal I ate in Puerto Rico. It may, in fact, be the only bad restaurant in Puerto Rico, where good food is everywhere.
Do yourself a favor. Eat somewhere else. Eat anywhere else. Don't give these rip-off artists your money. Don't waste one of your precious opportunities to eat the universally delicious food served across Puerto Rico in this tourist trap.
Normally I wouldn't post a negative review of a restaurant, especially not one like this, where the servers were very friendly and kind. But the food at this restaurant was literally the worst food I have ever been served in any restaurant, anywhere, at any time, in my entire life. It was absolutely inedible. Just flavorless deep-fried sticks of grease and gristle. The food took an eternity to arrive and the bill was incredibly high. The only food that had any flavor was my fish, which was so salty I couldn't eat it. We left the majority of what we were served on the table and the only reason we didn't go somewhere for dinner on the way home is that what we DID eat left us all queasy. To top it off, the bill was sky high at the end. We paid less for many, many superior meals in...
Read moreWalked in just shortly ago probably like around 615 today September, 23 2020 with two friends for a beer, and after we follow the safety guidelines to be seated, we were attended by an individual who claim to be the manager of the place. This individual that I cannot call a bartender besides being unfriendly, he seems to be disturbed and not happy, It was reflected on his treatment toward us. He had no knowledge of the types of beers at all and when he we asked-he seem to be very upset because we were claiming all we were asking too many questions that he could not answer. This guy has zero skills to be a bartender, no skills to deal with people and much less to be a manager. I was not able to get his name And we were so badly impressed that we have to leave that place immediately. I will recommend that if you go to that place please be sure to engage in a conversation with the bartender If you even really want to get a beer. RECOMMENDATION-either this guy needs to be trained as a manager and as a bartender or just simply fired Pésimo lugar, experiencia horrible.
