The room was extremely disappointing and not as expected. It was very small, with barely any space to walk. The bed was on a flimsy frame with wheels, causing it to roll around whenever you sat or moved, which made it uncomfortable and inconvenient. There was no seating option other than the bed itself, which is impractical, especially when returning from outside and not wanting to sit on the same bed you’ll be sleeping in.
The room had very few outlets, making it difficult to charge devices or use electronics. There was only one nightstand, which is not suitable for two guests. In addition, the room lacked windows, fans, and any ability to properly control the AC. The shower water was cold, and there were no shelves or holders to place toiletries, forcing me to keep soap and shampoo on the toilet.
Overall, the room was overpriced for what was provided. The lack of basic amenities, comfort, and convenience made the stay disappointing. For the same price or less, an Airbnb would be a much better option.
The room is so sad that I couldn’t wait to check out before I wrote this review. In fact, I just checked in and this was my first...
Read moreFirst the positives: beautiful historic building, renovated and very clean, although minimalist. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location can't be beat next to lively square, great restaurants and you can stroll for hours around old San Juan. Water bottles provided in the room. Great bed and our AC worked great! Not so positives: room lacked places for our stuff, no closet or drawers. And the worst part is the noise. We stayed two nights and didn't get much sleep at all. First night was a Saturday, and the street noise and people was non stop until about 3 am. Once the people left, the trash truck came through and if you were able to sleep through the street noise you for sure would have a rude awakening hearing that loud truck! The walls are very thin, on the second night, a Sunday, the street noise died down earlier (maybe 1 am) but our next door neighbor 's tv was loud ALL night long. If it wasn't for the lack of sleep we would have given it a 5 star review. They should provide earplugs or white noise machines. It would be a...
Read moreThe Armas Hotel is a great choice if you’re looking for a clean, efficient place to stay right in the heart of Old San Juan. The room I had was definitely on the smaller side, so it’s not the kind of hotel where you’d lounge around for long stretches—but it was spotless and well kept.
What really stood out was the friendly staff and the unbeatable location. Being right in Old San Juan meant I could walk everywhere—restaurants, bars, nightlife, and sightseeing were all just steps away. I loved being able to go out, enjoy myself, and then safely walk right back to the hotel without any hassle.
If you’re coming to Puerto Rico to explore, eat, drink, and socialize, this hotel is perfect as a convenient and...
