Read about them being nominated for a James Beard Award and had to come try. The cocktails by Edrick Colón were spectacular! We tried the ‘Juniper Paradise’, ‘Vida’, and the ‘Sandia! Sandia! Sandia!’ And all three were delicious! We ordered the ‘masitas de cerdo’ which were super flavorful, crunchy, meaty and accompanied by a great spicy sauce on the side. The star of the night, however, were their famous ‘Piña Colada Mahi Bao Buns’. Absolutely worth going there for. The space is quaint, a bit minimalistic (in a good way), and very tasteful. The ambiance was good, along with the music selection. It got a bit loud for me at the end of our sitting, but that’s to be expected from a small space when it’s full of happy consumers. I rated them a 4/5 stars in service because the ‘masitas de cerdo’ arrived before we had silverware, napkins or plates - which is a small detail that hopefully gets tweaked but it is a bit of a pet peeve of mine to have hot food in front of me and not being able to dig right in yet. A small attention to detail. Another thing I really enjoyed is that the place was never so full that you feel like you’re in a can of sardines. Overall had a great experience and looking forward to going back and working my way through the rest of...
Read moreAverage experience as far as the food and drinks. Service at the front door and our waitress was terrible. We called in advance and asked if reservations were needed, they told us no, walk ins were welcomed… We get there, and they didn’t want to let us through the front door. They told us to wait, thought about it, finally sat us down only to then ask a few minutes later for us to move because a larger crowd had come. I Should also add that as the host walked us to the table she told us we have 2 hrs to finish. They rushed every part of the experience and were just super rude. The Waitress never checked on us, asked how our food was, nothing. There are just too many other way better places in PR if you want good food, location and especially service.
EDIT: the owner is insinuating the bar was full when we arrived. They opened at 5, and we arrived a few mins later, the...
Read moreHeard about this bar being named a James Beard winner for 2025 so decided to drop by on a Saturday night to check it out. When we arrived, the person working the door was fielding guests who had made reservations, as well as those who were just trying to walk in. We waited a little while outside and made conversation with the doorperson - who was lovely - until a table freed up. Once seated, our server, Angela, introduced herself and took our requests. The drinks arrived promptly and were fantastic. La Factoria who? :) I'm excited about this cocktail bar - it's cute, and not too loud, the bar staff seem happy to be there, the lighting is flattering and the temperature is great (I find many bars in PR to be too cold!). I was sad I was too full to stay for an extra round or two, but will be returning again next...
