Night Kayak — Local services in San Juan

My family—who are from Puerto Rico—joined a night kayaking tour expecting a safe and memorable experience, but instead we were met with unprofessionalism, discrimination, and neglect. Despite arriving on time, we were rushed by staff. One guide (possibly named Sabrina) initially addressed the group in English and Spanish, but quickly made the tour feel like a private experience for a single Spanish-speaking couple—ignoring the rest of us, which were 6 out of the 9 kayaks.

When we asked her to include English again, we were met with disrespect and hostility. The situation escalated into discriminatory remarks like, “This is not even your country,” and “You should be grateful,” co-signed by the guide. Instead of de-escalating, another staff member told us to “chill out.”

Later, we were deliberately isolated in the lagoon without any staff present—a serious safety risk. We recorded a video of this as well. When we asked for our group photo, we were dismissively told, “I don’t have to give you anything,” and when asked to speak to a manager, we were also told there is no manager or supervisor running this business because they are all equals.

As Puerto Ricans, we are truly disappointed and hurt by this experience. No one should be treated this way—excluded, endangered, and disrespected—especially by a company trusted to provide safe, inclusive experiences.

Whomever is in charge of their emails took no accountability and did not apologize or offer a refund for this...

One of my favorite things I did so far on my Solo trip to Puerto Rico! This will also be my first review, took me a while to start this because I had a long list to do so.

Now as a person who doesn't know how to swim & never kayaking before. Especially at night by herself was a nightmare! If I knew I would have to go by myself I wouldn't have go through it because it's just not safe .

I had never even paddled a boat before. Didn't like the fact just because I didn't have a partner I have to go by myself! I asked multiple times & the girl keep saying : that's why you gonna go alone! Imagine the pressure I was in & felt like I committed a sin by being alone !

I ended up asking,, actually begging other people if anyone wants to come with me . Everyone said no; finally one kid who said he will be happy to come with me. The way he guided me & made me feel comfortable! I wouldn't been able to do anything if he wasn't with me to guide me! I would have definitely freaked out in the middle of nowhere ! Because ot of him I ended up having fun.

They gave us paint & I also ended up painting my face lol. It was great , just giving you all a heads up so you know how this works. It's definitely fun tho I...

I had an unforgettable experience kayaking at night with Mike and Cheli, and I can honestly say it was one of the most magical adventures I've ever had. They shared interesting stories about the local wildlife and the area’s history, enriching our journey. They also went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves.
